Dropped from Heaven
He stumbled forward, hands trembling as he picked up the envelope.
The flap wasn't sealed, and he tipped it upside down, spilling crisp bills over the white sheets.
Not too much, and not too little. Just enough to pay him back, even accounting for inflation and interest, calculated to perfection.
He fumbled for his phone, dialing her number with shaking hands.
