I watched her for a moment, the way she tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, the little sway of her hips completely unintentional, but distracting as hell.
Shaking myself out of it, I grabbed a glass from the cabinet and filled it with water, taking a slow sip as I leaned against the fridge.
Helena still looked tense, like she was hyper-aware of my presence.
After setting the cup down, I turned to leave, but her voice stopped me.
“Hey… uh, Adrian?”
I turned back. “Yeah?”
She hesitated, fiddling with the spatula in her hands. “I know you’re busy and everything, but… I made pancakes. A lot of them. So, um… would you want to have breakfast?”
