The beast who had pinned my shoulders down and hammered into me last night was completely gone, replaced by the cold, unreadable billionaire CEO.
"Take these," he said, setting the tray on the nightstand. His voice was level, completely lacking the gravelly tone he used when he was coming. "It’s for the headache. The remnants of the sedative should be entirely out of your system by noon."
I reached out from under the blanket, keeping it pinned to my chest as I took the pills and swallowed them with the water. My hands were shaking slightly under his intense, gray gaze.
"Where are you going?" I asked, my voice small and raspy.
