Instinctively, I reached for something to hold on to, but before I could, my body collapsed. "Daniella!" I heard Brandon's panicked voice. He seemed like he wanted to help me but stopped. Because right beside him, Lexie said, "Ms. Pace must be doing this just to stop me from moving in…" Meanwhile, Brandon actually believed her.

I believe your witch girl can seal it fully once we are in there.” Smart, I thought. I had no idea that the library was warded, but it made sense as all the Divine Order journals that the pack had were in there.

Ambrose was cutting through men like grass, when he felt a knee trembling flash of terror and fear, deep within him. He paused his fighting, leaving himself exposed, just as a soldier lifted his sword to cut the Lord down. When a slither of metal pierced right through the back of the soldier's neck, gurgling on his own blood, the soldier collapsed - to reveal the bloodied face of Ravyn. The Shadow's eyes, filled with the icy determination of a warrior in battle.
