Just quiet. Holt pushed the door open. Inside, it was sparse but lived-in. A wood stove in the corner. Shelves packed with worn books and cassette tapes. A mattress on the floor. The kind of place built by a man who didn’t expect company. Evelyn stayed near the entrance, her back to the wall. “Sit,” Holt said, motioning to a chair. “You’re losing too much.” She did. Carefully. Blood soaked her shirt. Holt dropped the satchel on the table between them and then knelt beside her, peeling her jacket back. His fingers were practiced, fast.

Fernando reached for his coffee. The scrape of ceramic against wood nearly snapped my control and I exhaled slowly through my nose. "Don’t, not in front of him." Ashley noticed, she always did. Her voice stayed light as she spoke to Henry. “Did you sleep okay?” Henry nodded enthusiastically. “Uh-huh, uncle Nick read me that book again, the one with the dragon.” Nick smiled faintly from across the table, dark circles under his eyes betraying the fact that none of us had actually slept well.

Zoey said softly, before her daughter released the book onto her hand. Together, they flopped themselves into the couch, Zoey took a deep breath, before flipping the pages. It was exactly the book that they were looking for when they went to Aunt Violet's house. The book was missing when they reached her bookshelf, so why in the hell was she holding the same book? "What's the book about, mommy?" Zara peered her eyes into the book. Zoey turned towards her daughter, "It's a record of all the Harts finance, Harts children, and everyone who's registered under the name, Harts."

Laura finally threw him a smirk that said, "Playing tricks in front of me? You're still a rookie." Henry couldn't help but blush. He wanted to kill her. His expression twisted into an oddly adorable contortion. Laura chuckled and went back to her book. In no time, she finished a thick pharmacology textbook, closed her eyes, silently recited it once, and that was it – she remembered it all. Henry had to admit she was so strong. She could read such thick books once and remember everything! At her speed, she could learn anything just by looking at it once. Truly, some people were just infuriatingly talented.

For a moment, Scott’s and Carmen's eyes met before she pulled away and approached where Lucas and her brother were seated. “There’s nothing,” Carmen started. “What?” reacted both Lucas and Marcus. “The locker’s shut just like before plus he wouldn't be that stupid to put back whatever that thing was-” “Would you tone it down back there!” snapped Henry, who had been seated at a desk in front of them and was reading a book with the side revealing the author as H.G. Wells. For the first time, the threesome then realized that there was another person who could actually shed some light on their predicament, which was none other than Henry, of course.

I asked. “Another one of his historical smuts.” Henry replied, raising his voice to grab Ron’s attention. “This is fine historical literature not smut.” I snorted at that. “Fine historical literature my ass.” Henry said. Hen was right. I had once searched for a book in Ron’s vast library that did not involve a Duke being wickedly seduced by a temptress or a Highlander spilling his seeds into a moaning fair maiden and had not found any. Not that I was complaining, they were quite educative.

"Dad, can I barrow some of your books?" "Of course, you can have it." "Really?" Hailey's smile shines. "Yes, what did you like?" he asked. "Encyclopedia Britannica!" his son was excited. "Seriously?" Henry laugh a little. "Yes Daddy, can I have it?" his son's eyes are still shining, Henry was laughing inside... it's as if he was looking at himself when he was young. "Sure Hailey! You can take it." Henry brushes his son's hair. "Thanks Daddy! I love you!" Hailey was very happy and so as Henry.

Caraline replied, "I am truly very grateful and happy to be able to visit this place. My arrival must have taken up a lot of your time." Caraline surveyed the surroundings. This is a marvelous room, she thought. There wasn't much furniture in this place, but the layout, ornaments, and decorations were perfect. "You must think I'm pretty weird for collecting some animated figures," Henry Hulbert said, "when I was a kid, I was really into robots and animated figures. It's just that my condition at the time didn't allow me to buy them. So, I'm using my money to fulfill my childhood dream right now."

Chapter 36 -INDIGO- "That Henry is really Henry Hawthorne, CEO of the Hawthorne industries, one of the biggest companies in the entire world." Matilda says and my jaw drops. The same guy that acts like a child and pouts every second of the day? He's the CEO of Hawthorne industries. A company that's almost as successful as this one, maybe even more.

I did the best I could do to keep us in contact at least. Henry may not be an important personality in this book but he is one of the few persons in my life that has changed my view of society.
