Desired (Book #5 in the Vampire Journals)

Desired (Book #5 in the Vampire Journals)

She held it up, and realized that this blood was an even lighter shade of red than any she had seen. “It’s refined,” Lily explained. Caitlin looked at her. “They take all the impurities out of it,” Lily continued. “It’s supposed to be healthier for your kind. Remember, this is Versailles: everything is extravagant here.” Caitlin tasted it, and was surprised at how much lighter it was, and how it went down so much more smoothly. She was also surprised by the immediate kick she got, and by how she felt so rejuvenated so quickly. Whatever it was they did to it, this blood was definitely of a greater quality.

The Lycan King's Curse

The Lycan King's Curse

I stood beside her, captivated by her unwavering resolve, feeling the tendrils of curiosity tightening their grip on my own consciousness. Time stretched, each passing moment amplifying the tension in the air. And then, as if guided by an invisible force, Lucy's hand halted, trembling in anticipation. Her fingertips trembled above a weathered tome, tucked away amidst its companions on a lower shelf. With cautious reverence, she grasped the aged book, her touch gentle yet purposeful. The cover, bearing the weight of time, whispered secrets in faded ink: "Moonlight's Veil: The Tragedy of the Lycan Lord." The words etched in the worn leather sent a shiver down my spine, a mixture of foreboding

GINI: The Wicked Saviour

She had was holding a small book in her hands now, a book which she gave to Gareth. “It contains my memory.” Vera smiled and parted Gareth’s cheeks, leaving a smear of red trail on them. “Please don’t die. There must be something that we can do.” “There is nothing that can be done, Leonard.” Vera said. It was difficult to distinguish the tear that calm running down from her eyes, with the sweat that covered her body. “It’s glowing again.” Cassandra said and all heads turned to the small paper that was in her hands. “What does it say?” Vera asked weakly.

Raven the lurker
I have gotten used to read female lead stories from her so this time when it is male lead it's quite a refreshing and interesting change up. The start is promising and very well written and it's not the typical type of a novel so give it a chance as this author never ceases from surprising you.

I've been following Dentot for a while now, and I must say, she never ceases to get me hooked on her stories! The change of perspective to a male lead is quite refreshing.. I'm expecting more action packed scenes and of course a bit of sexy stuff - maybe a lot of it would be good!

Rejected by my mate, Claimed by Alpha Ryder

Rejected by my mate, Claimed by Alpha Ryder

she said shakily. My eyes narrowed. “What nonsense is that?” “This is wolfsbane poison,” she said while holding up the bottle. “And I’m going to drink it.” Vanessa immediately rushed toward her. “Veronica, stop!” But Veronica stepped back quickly. “No!” she cried. “Stay away from me!” I rolled my eyes in frustration. “Oh stop being dramatic.” “I’m serious!” Veronica screamed. Her hands trembled violently around the bottle. “I can’t do this anymore,” she sobbed. “Everyone hates us. Everyone talks bad about us.”

Claimed By A Father And Son

Claimed By A Father And Son

“If Lucian’s scent is on me, what are you gonna do? Huh? Growl at me in front of the vending machines? Post a passive-aggressive story about loyalty and sluts? Cry in your dorm and pray he doesn’t climb into mine tonight?” And that? That was when Veronica’s lip twitched. Victory. Until she hissed, “He doesn’t want you.” And I said, without missing a beat, “Oh darling, then why do you look like you’re about to cry?” Boom.

Lunaborn at Moonridge Academy

“I let you see me because I wanted to see how far you’d go. And look at you. Trying to run to your little friend with the truth. How noble of you.. stupid actually but cute” My palms were damp, heart pounding against my ribs. “Elara deserves…” Her smile sharpened, though her voice never lost its softness. “Elara deserves to live. Don’t you think?” Cold shot through me. “What… what are you saying?” Veronica stepped closer, her perfume sweet, cloying, wrong. “You may think me venomous, Lila. That’s the word you whispered to yourself, wasn’t it? But venom isn’t the half of it.” She tilted her head, eyes glittering like shards of glass. “I’m more deadly than you could ever imagine. And if you va

DEVON "You're a druid?" I said, trying to process what I'd just heard. "What? Hard to believe?" Veronica purred, a look of amusement on her cat-like features. "Then you know a lot about the twin moons?" Theo said to Veronica who shrugged as she rubbed her long fingernails together. "I know something about the twin moons but it's not going to be enough" "Liam said he saw you with a book -" Veronica rolled her eyes. "Of course it would be Liam. I'm afraid I no longer have the book here with me"

Broken Luna Rise Back

Broken Luna Rise Back

Unsettling. Veronica’s gaze swept the hall and then landed on me. For a fleeting moment, I saw something sharp in her eyes not regret, but hatred. Alpha Dylan stepped forward, his voice deep and commanding. “Veronica of the Red Claw, you stand before your Alpha and your Luna, accused of deceit, falsehood, and betrayal against the pack that sheltered you.” His words echoed across the hall, each one landing like a hammer. Veronica’s lips curled into a bitter smile. “I did what I had to,” she said coldly. “You would have done the same if you’d been cast aside for someone like her.”

The Billionaire's Plump Bride

Frans pointed to a glass cabinet at the far end of the room, indicating for Veronica to organize the books she had brought. "If you don't mind, could you also help me rearrange those books by their publication years?" Frans asked, pulling the corners of his lips into a smile. Veronica nodded and immediately began rearranging the books inside the cabinet. While Veronica was busy arranging the books, Bianca snatched the opportunity to speak up. Feeling frustrated at being ignored, she rolled her eyes lazily. For the first time, she felt neglected by someone else, which only fueled her growing resentment towards Veronica. She believed that Veronica had intentionally followed Frans to find out w

Veronica

Veronica

“Take me to my coronation, Lilith.” Veronica took Lilith’s hand and then she thought to herself, ‘this is it. The moment that I have waited for all my life will finally be given to me. Finally, the crown is mine.’ Lilith and Veronica then teleported and appeared in the huge entrance of the ball room. Medieval music then immediately played as the crowd made way for Veronica’s entrance accompanied by Lilith. Veronica walked with her head held high with a proud smile written onto her lips. Her amethyst eyes shined bright as she turned them to everyone who was in the room.

Frequently Asked Questions

'Veronica' is one that caught my attention recently. The author is Mary Gaitskill, an American writer known for her sharp, unflinching prose. Her work often explores complex human emotions and relationships, and 'Veronica' is no exception. It's a hauntingly beautiful novel that delves into themes of memory, loss, and the passage of time. Gaitskill's ability to capture the nuances of her characters' inner lives is what makes this book stand out. If you're into literary fiction that leaves a lasting impression, this is definitely one to check out.
