I pointed to the car, where Arnold stood beside it looking impatient. “Now that’s my brother—Arnold,” I said as we approached. “Hey, stranger,” I greeted him casually. “You’re 3 minutes late, Nova,” he said, turning to Eli. “Who’s the kid?” “I’m Eli,” he said, stretching out his hand for a handshake. “Nova’s new bestie.” Surprisingly, Arnold took his hand. “Way to go, Nova. You got yourself a friend on your first day,” Arnold teased.

However, the anxious tension I felt between them didn't seem like something that two friends would share. "You found her, good job Arnold." He said with a smirk and then he glanced over to me. "Good job to you too for staying alive, human. I honestly thought that you wouldn't make it." Arnold was strangely quiet but his silence was deafening and it said a lot more than any word could at that moment. He took me over to the car and told me to rest in the backseat, dropping me there. He seem to exchange some words with his so-called friend that climaxed with him punching the other male over the face.
