I Need You, My Luna
Down the hall, a small voice I know all too well calls out, bright and unapologetic:
"MOMMYYYYYYY. I'M HUNGRY."
Oh goddess. Makayla.
Of course.
Xarion lets out a low, helpless laugh beside me, and I press my lips together, and the warmth in my chest expands into what, if I'm being completely honest with myself, is happiness.
Simple, genuine, embarrassingly straightforward happiness.
I open my eyes and look at the ceiling.
"Fifteen minutes," I mutter. "We got fifteen minutes."
"Worth every second," Xarion replies.
The annoying thing is, he's completely right.
