She felt the urge to take a good hold of his shoulders and shake whatever it was that was in him out but Derek was so unpredictable she couldn't guess how that would have turned out, so she kept herself together and pretended like everything was normal.
“What do we have for consumption?” Harold asked back as he zipped open his bag. In it were a few tins of sardine, three bottles of water that he'd taken from the lake, an orange which gave off a nasty odour, the map and his phone. His knife should have added to the collection but it had been pretty useless after it had sunk into the knee of the creature, whatever it was, and he'd decided against taking it along.
