My hair sticks to my face as I cough and spit into the sink. I rinse my mouth with trembling hands, and sit on the edge of the tub for a moment, breathing hard. For a while, I do nothing. My body is spent, but my brain keeps whirring like a motor that refuses to shut off. I stare at the ceiling and wait for the shaking to stop. I have been like this for a few days now, eating very little and throwing out whatever enters my stomach. The sound of my phone ringing is so unexpected that I jolt upright, smacking my head against the sink beside me.

"Where's the doctor?" The secretary felt troubled. "Madam has had a lot of pills, but none of them have worked. She can't take the smell of the medication, either, so she refuses to let me summon the doctor." Gladys had a hiccup disorder. To be exact, she had hiccups that wouldn't stop. It had lasted for over half a month, and it had onset suddenly. The doctors diagnosed them as neurogenetic hiccups that were caused by muscle spasms.

No matter how much she tried to cover her mouth, it continued to flow like a curse which make her to roughly beat her own chest with her fist, annoyed at the hiccups that came in such a strange timing. She wasn't scared, she wasn't being scared by someone right now and yet her bad hiccups sounded as if it had came deeply from her soul.

My eyes flickered to his lips, touching the same spot my lipstick had imprinted. For the strangest of reason, it cooled down my dragons. The hiccups gone.
