THE THIRD MATING
“Those bodies, the diagrams, there’s got to be more.”
Ronan nodded, his jaw tight. “If someone’s after what’s in there, we need to know what it is before they get it.”
We pushed through to the hidden research room, the bookshelf sliding open with a low rumble. But when we stepped inside, my heart dropped. The table was bare, no maps, no papers, no vials. The diagrams of hybrid creatures were gone. I spun toward the glass chambers along the wall, my breath catching. They were empty. The shriveled bodies, the fangs, the eerie figures, they were all gone, like they’d never existed.
