she begins, her breathing is quick and she rambles breathlessly, "I know that you don't want anyone to see your pain. That you prefer to leave, to go places where no one can reach you."
I do not know if I am more astounded that she would remember those words of mine, or the truth she speaks after.
"But deep down I know that you want someone to find you, Kayos. Or you would not have come at all."
Only the sounds of her breaths could be heard between her words.
"I know you wish to heal," she adds, "When pain is shared it is much easier to heal. Much easier. I know."
My lips press together at her words. The temptation to have even a fraction of this pain lifted from my shoulders is incomparable
