Rhae slowly walked towards the bookshelf off to the side of the room and began skimming the titles. "Tales of Fae," Aynyra grinned, crossing her legs in the bed like a toddler. Rhae pulled the book off the shelf, examining the repeatedly broken spine and the clear wear and tear on the cloth-covered binding. "A children's book?" Rhae questioned peering at the title. Aynyra chuckled, "It's not a children's book, it's based on history. It's fact." Rhae walked over to the bed laughing, "It's myth Aynyra, don't tell me you believe in the Fae."

“Haven’t you said it before?” “Yes, but maybe they don’t remember and reading this will make them understand this book better. So yes,” She is suddenly facing the wall beside her, “I want you guys to read the first book. ‘Asteria: The Fey King’s Mate’. It’s exclusively on N******t, so I couldn’t upload it here. I am sorry for that, I really am but this will make you understand a lot of things better and I hope you like it.”

So, what Katniss is saying now feels impossible to believe. “I don’t believe you,” I spit, disbelief clouding my thoughts as her words replay in my mind like a scene from a tragic play in a theatre. “You’re making that up. Faes would never use magic to harm others.” “Is that so?” Katniss lets go of my hand and turns to the crowd. “People of Māui, it seems our little Fae here is unaware of the true history of the now-fallen Kingdom of Eris, and the terror unleashed upon the world. Shall we enlighten her?”

“No tantrums. I’ve had enough from Mom for today, Jack. I didn’t talk to you about it because I didn’t think you’d want to hear. Besides, it involved books. Go ahead, Sean.” “There was only one resource with anything of significance talking about fae. It’s about eight hundred years old and actually belongs to a small pack in remote Ireland. It took some time to get even an electronic copy.” Sean opens a manilla folder on his lap and removes printed images of the book’s scanned pages. “It says here: ‘Pure or half-fae, also sometimes known as sylphidae, are born masters of elemental magic and as such are very powerful. All fae can be capricious and are prone to fits of extreme temper’—.”

Twillow nodded, "That sounds tasty...but um...if-if it's not too much trouble, could you not give me any meat?" "Uh, sure. Sure." He consented. "You don't like boar?"+ She shook her head, "Fae are vegetarian." "Oh. I see." he acknowledged, "I'll...be sure to remember that from now on." He worked for a bit longer, rolling out the dough for the flat breads before setting them on a flat stone over the fire. "So..." he asked off the cuff, "What's the book about?" She glanced down at the collection of parchments bound together with sewn fibers, "Oh. It's some writings about ancient human legends and creatures. There are hand-drawn illustrations too."

Heading up to the front counter, I find a kind looking librarian organizing returned books. “I’m sorry to bother you ma’am. I was wondering if you had any books on elf magic. Specifically red magic?” I ask with a touch of trepidation. Wilheim responded pretty intensely to my magic so I’m worried it might set this woman off too. “Oh dear, I don’t know of any elf magic that would be red in color. I would suggest going to the demon section. They are the only ones I know of that would contain red magic.” She says with a smile like what she just said didn’t just completely change my view on the magic in my chest.

Chapter 23: The Truth about Him Faith’s P.O.V “Here you go,” David pointed out to the isle that had all the books related to disaster management. “Try the books written by Heather Shaw and Kane Westwick, so far they are the most helpful ones you’ll find on the subject.” “Thank you so much, David,” I told him gratefully. “I’d be totally lost if you didn’t help me out here. This place is massive!”

Damn, Freckles. The first book I pulled out was called “Images You Should Not Masturbate To”. I snorted, flipping through a couple of pages and shaking my head. That sarcastic streak of hers ran deep. I grabbed another, the title catching my eye: “How to Traumatize Your Children: 7 Proven Methods to Help You Screw Up Your Kids Deliberately and with Skill.” I let out a short laugh, one that came from somewhere I’d almost forgotten existed. Then there were the others—Fancy Coffins to Make Yourself, Do-It-Yourself Coffins for Pets and People, and, for good measure, How to Raise Your IQ by Eating Gifted Children. I shook my head, glancing back at her still sleeping form.
