she giggled at her own joke. Guila’s giggle rippled through the air, a moment of levity amidst the heavy atmosphere. Her joke, bizarre and unexpected, painted a vivid picture in my mind. I couldn’t help but smile at her words, the image she conjured absurdly amusing. It was as if, even in the darkest moments, she managed to find a glimmer of humor, a ray of light that pierced through the shadows.

Hey Nate, Did you do a weird thing? Let's see. You read comments on an online support group, saw one that caught your interest, couldn't suppress the urge to talk to the girl that wrote said comment, sent her the oddest email she's ever read, and then decided to forget that he ever sent the email in the first place. Is that weird? I'll leave you to answer that for yourself. And yes, I do have a sense of humor. Usually the dark kind, but it's still humor nonetheless, isn't it? But nowadays, very few things make me laugh. So,I don't know what to make of it. Does that still count as having a good sense of humor?

"Hahahahahaha." The laughter went on for a while. It was eerie and filled with amusement. It didn't sound quite right, almost like the person producing such a sound had lost his mind. I knew it was a guy from the deep bass in his voice as his laughing filled the dark space around me.

I could feel the darkness radiating off him, the air between us was thick with the scent of whiskey and the sharp, chemical edge of the drugs. "You smell so good," he whispered, his face dipping toward my shoulder. "Will you satisfy me tonight?" he muttered. "Please... Kiran, stop," I whimpered, my breath hitching as I tried to shrink away. "You’re not yourself... you don't know what you’re saying." Suddenly, he stopped. He pulled back just an inch, his heavy breathing ghosting over my skin. He reached up, his thumb brushing away a tear that had escaped my eye.

He didn’t answer. He just looked at me. And then. He laughed. Slow at first. Deep. Rich. That dark kind of laugh that wasn’t funny at all but still sounded like it came from somewhere inside his chest, like whatever was going on in his head had officially short-circuited and now he was just laughing to keep from snapping. I blinked. What the fuck?

But the frowned turn to laugh all of sudden when I saw how his smile faded. "Why are you laughing?" He then sighed like a child. I didn't know grim reaper can be funny like this. How I wish to see Saint pouting like this. Maybe that's more interesting. Damn! I can't imagine. "You are ridiculous." "Tsk! Everyone's tells that." "Great, at the list I'm not the only one"

He's laughing so hard he has to press his hand against his mouth to contain it, his shoulders shaking. It’s not a happy laugh, It's the sound of someone who's finally snapped, who's seen one manipulation too many and can't process it anymore except through hysteria. Everyone stares at him like he's lost his mind. Maybe he has. "This is fucking hilarious." Gray says through his laughter, rubbing the rim of his champagne glass. "GRAYSON!" Edward bellows, his face turning red.

"You have no idea–I was just joking around, but those disgusting guys went crazy asking me for your contact." The old me would have already been crying, asking her how she could do this to me, voice breaking. Not this me. My teeth clenched so hard they hurt. My whole body trembled with anger. I snatched the flyer out of her hand and slapped her across the face. Tara screamed, clutching her cheek in disbelief. "You hit me? I treat you like my best friend, and you can't even take a joke anymore?" Best friend? I let out a cold laugh.

His gaze returned to me, disappointment clear and heavy. “I’ll make her apologize.” I lay sprawled on the cold deck, my body barely responding to my own will. Small stones scraped against my skin, one skidding dangerously close to my eye. Around us, people moved quickly—around her instead. “It’s okay, don’t cry.” “We all know you didn’t mean anything by it.” “She’s clearly overreacting.” “Adrian, seriously, how did you even put up with this?” Someone let out an awkward laugh. “She really knows how to turn nothing into a spectacle.”
