“Girls can’t govern themselves.” “That’s misogynist.” “So? What is your point?” “It doesn’t make any sense.” “It doesn’t have to.” They had reached the mess. “Just follow me and do what I say. And don’t contradict me in the mess or it will be bad for you.” He led her into the mess walking towards the counter and took a plate. Sahithi did the same. The menu was mouth watering – liver fry, mutton curry, pulav, curd. She filled her plate with those dishes and walked to the table.

There was one solitary, big book on a low table between them. "The title of the tale is The Binding of Autumn," he began, his voice an entrancing whisper just in harmony with the shriek of the fire. “It's the tale of a harvest god who offers a mortal woman a choice: one night of absolute freedom for one year of unimaginable riches for her people." He didn't move as his eyes met hers. "The consent is the matter at hand. It must be freely bestowed, not coerced, and whispered three times into the skin of his throat." “Do you have any idea what sort of story you're going to be reading me tonight?”

She said "How come that's your story. That's Ramayan. An Indian epic" Basim interupted making Zahir and Zian glare at him. Being born in the Royal family, they were all taught about the histories all over the world. And Ava had taught her kids the same, even though she never hoped that her children would get their birth rights ever. And Zada has found the Indian epic of Ramayana very fascinating. And she demands that story to be said repeatedly.

My ride was already waiting outside. ***** Sitting in my room engrossed in the book I am reading. After the visit to Sarah's house, I got home and no one was home as usual. My parents are very busy people. My dad owned various oil companies in Different countries and of course had to travel from time to time. My mum is a businesswoman. She travelled a lot too. Hopefully, she'd be around tomorrow. Deciding that the book was starting to bore me. I opened the I*******m app and started scrolling through the posts.

An Indian drama series was showing on air and quite coincidentally, they were talking about a new bride preparing dinner for her parents- inlaw and she heard words like 'kheer', 'chicken biryani', 'dal' and so much more. Smiling mischievously, she quickly repeated the ones she heard properly to him. "I want to eat Kheer and chicken briyani!" In her rush to repeat the Indian words, she wrongly pronounced 'biryani' as 'briyani' but the only thing the person at the other end said on response was, "Alright. Thank you very much. Talk to you later. Take care."
