Forgotten Embers

Forgotten Embers

she stopped herself, shifting her shoulders as she weighed the statement, "not a lot that we have left of it, anyway." "Why's that?" Avera asked with interest. "It was all lost," Kara told her, issuing a glance in her direction. "You know," she added, "during the Great Fire." Avera looked at her, unknowing, and she began to elaborate. "See, Stephan prided himself on his public works projects, and one of his crowning achievements was this really illustrious library he had built. All of the official documents and the entirety of the collections of the Royal Library were stored there, and when the city burned, the books burned with it," Kara stated, continuing to search through the catalogue. Phoenix Cry

I took my book and I lit my index finger with fire and tried burning the book. "They got us there". Zale said and sighed getting his own book and tried to toss it in the ocean. I stopped my fire and stopped him. "Well, as we are back to square one, let's just try to gather information from the northern part," I said and smiled at him. I put my book inside my bag again. It was pointless anyway, to burn the book. It is the book of origin, a book written by the Gods, it is protected from being harmed by anything, by anyone.

THE ALPHA KING'S CLAIM

THE ALPHA KING'S CLAIM

Serena returned to her seat after a minute and the general did the same. “Phanteon used to have a collection of historical documents in the Royal Depository and Library, Your Majesty, but your father ordered to burn all of them down,” he confessed. “It was supposed to be a secret but I knew about it because I was the one who brought all those scrolls and books from the library to the Baltic Meadow’s deserted border. He employed a witch to create a rune that would torch all the pages to ashes.” “Did he tell you why he did so?” I asked, finding this unusual. No one would do such a thing unless they were hiding something.

Love, love, love this book! I could not get enough of Aero and Serena's fiery love for each other. It just makes you want to keep on reading, wanting to know their next adventure into the realms. All came together very beautifully, every sub story tied up in a nice red bow with surprises!

Easily one of my fave fantasy reads. The character development of the ML is just *chef's kiss* The plot, the setting, the characters... Everything about this story pulled me right in. I'm really looking forward to reading Lord Hale's and the triplets' story! Keep up the good work!

The Alpha's Cure

The Alpha's Cure

Lana sighed. Lana almost tempted me to show her. That's when I decided to burn every book I owned. My neighbor Presley was never the same after the police and Bruce questioned Jude. It was late at night and I used my firepit to burn my books. The smell wasn't inviting like hickory charcoal. Presley was cleaning his grill as he often does. He tried to peek my way, but once he saw me glaring at him, he stopped what he was doing and hurried inside.

The Reluctant Mafia Bride

The Reluctant Mafia Bride

“Then we finish this.” A few minutes later, Isabel was propped up beside the fire pit they’d quickly built. She was pale, but stubborn enough to stand on her own. The fire crackled to life as the others gathered around. Isabel looked at the objects, her expression unreadable. Then, without ceremony, she tossed both the book and device into the flames. The old leather curled almost instantly, the pages igniting in a rush of blue and orange flames. The device sparked and crackled before melting into twisted metal.

House Of Fire - Book One of Seven Series

“And acting skittish about it?” Letting out an irritated grunt, she explains. “Let's just say years ago the council grew scared the book could mistakenly get out to humans if discovered, so it was banned from society and burnt to ashes. Or at least, the copy of the book was burnt. A long time ago-” She hesitates, staring at me for a brief second, before continuing. “An ancestor of mine wrote this book and no one has any idea I have the only original with me. If anyone finds out I have this in my possession my entire family would be punished and I can’t let that happen, they’re already facing enough being defects.”

Cheating Mates

I jumped in his path and did everything I could to prevent him from continuing, saying "No, please. I beg you. It would be a terrible mistake to burn the books. Please.” He hissed at me like an animal and asked, "why should I not?" I pleaded with him once more, but he ignored me and went ahead and set fire to the paper. He threw them on my bookshelves, where then burned them. When I saw those lovely books engulfed in flames in front of me, my heart broke into a million pieces.

The Burning

The Burning

“And what happens when they find out? What happens when they realize that their own government burned them alive, that Chloe —someone they trusted —was part of it? What do you think that’ll do to them? To us?” Wells stepped closer, her voice calm but insistent. “It’s not about what it’ll do to us. It’s about justice. About holding the people responsible accountable for what they did. The Burning wasn’t a natural disaster, Maya. It was a weapon. And the people who unleashed it are still out there, hiding in the shadows, pulling the strings. We can’t let them get away with it.” I stared at her, my mind spinning. The weight of it all was suffocating— Chloe’s betrayal, the government’s involveme

Until The Last Day

Until The Last Day

But when he looked up, hundreds of other books were lifting and floating from the shelves, their pages bleeding and whispering her name. “Camela. Camela. Camela.” Her head spun, and her chest rose and fell heavily. “They want me…” Vincent held her tightly against him, his flame blazing so bright enough it illuminated the shelves like daylight. “Then they’ll have to burn for it,” he said. He swung his arm through the air, sending fire in a blazing arc that struck the shelves. The books shrieked, blood hissed, and their pages curled black, turning ash. But for every book that he burned, ten more emerged from the shadows. They surged forward, bleeding words that crawled across the floor and wra

As well, as to the fact that what he was doing, there's no redeeming it back agai The book casings were empty except for a leather bound book of legends he was so obsessed of reading when he was still young. Of all his books, this one was the only one he was so attached of. He could not waste it. Before sundown, he ordered his men to get the mahogany casing and used it as wood to burn the dead bodies. He could not see any use of it while his men doubtfully followed his order. His men, like he, had the boon of the new age and things as precious as books were objects worthy of second thoughts. He burned it anywa When the cremation was done, it was almost midnight and his men were anxious as he
