You need to know the layout.” She led them back into the hall and down the wide staircase. “East Wing is mostly upperclassmen and transfer students—your kind of crowd. West Wing is the younger ones. Central Atrium is the heart of the school—cafeteria, library, portal hub, and the storm chamber where we run large-scale elemental drills.” They stepped into the vast atrium. The ceiling soared three stories high, a massive glass dome showing the Utah sky. The rest of us moved after her. The castle corridors shifted subtly as we walked, walls widening and lights brightening the farther we advanced. The sanctuary itself seemed eager now, almost excited, guiding us deeper inside its structure. Then the hallway opened. I stopped. Because what waited beyond looked unmistakably like a hospital wing. My stomach twisted at the sight. Kelly, who was standing beside me, cursed under his breath. “I recognise that place,” he said. “It was an old hospital from the 19s, during the big war between wolves and humans. They shut it down years ago, but it looks like the humans are using it again for their experiments.” He turned to the witches. “The security there is really tight. They use witch magic to block creatures like us out. There’s a witch helping them on the inside.” The leader of the witches nodded slowly. “Then we will need to be careful. Their spells are strong.”
