Hogwarts Hospital Wing Novels & Stories

Today, though, I’m close to breaking. I stalk through the palace, ignoring everyone who bows or tries to catch my eye. My claws flex against my palms, itching to come out. I keep them in check by sheer force of will. When I reach the hospital wing, I push open the heavy doors and the smell of herbs and stale sweat hits me. The scent is somehow both calming and disgusting at the same time.

“Old East Wing.” I frowned. “Why not there?” She leaned closer like the shadows might hear. “It’s sealed. They say part of the roof caved in a few terms ago. Unsafe.” She lowered her voice further. “Also cursed.” Still, later that afternoon, I found myself pushing through the cracked archway behind the herbology greenhouses, the path everyone pretended didn’t exist. Ivy coiled thick around the old gate, its rusted hinges screaming as I pushed through. The East Wing didn’t look cursed. Just… forgotten.

The girl in center asked. She was shorter than me, hair pulled back in a braid so tight it seemed to pull her eyebrows upward. Hand already raised, flickering unstable orb of white light dancing between her fingers. "The dark arts wing is three floors down. This hallway is for those who walk in the grace of the Saintess." I shifted weight, thumb brushing cold wood of the Winter Wand hidden in my sleeve. "The hallway is for anyone with a student ID and a GPA higher than room temperature. Move."

He told me, like it wasn't new news to me. "Winged creatures? like bats and birds?" I asked him. He sighed and laughed. "No, Princess. Like the Urus, and the Jaids." He told me. "Urus, like the town? What kind of creature is that?" I asked him. "I'll explain later, we need to keep moving." He urged me, and we kept moving through the cramped hallway. I shook my head as I let out a heavy sigh, following him inside. The inside was exactly what you would expect a medical building to look like. White walls and metal surfaces. Signs directing you to each wing of the building. The one thing completely different from our own medical clinic was the dragon wing. The rooms were huge; the back of each room held a large gate. A long heavy chain was attached to the top of each gate. A leaver and gear mounted to the wall to open and close the gate when needed.

Theon tells me that they are the physicians, basically, the ones who rule the hospital structure. "This is the Hospital for Magical Maladies," The Headmistress announces. "Here we treat various patients who were attacked by magic, accidentally or purposefully. We treat without discrimination; every creature is welcome. Human, supernatural, or even simpler creatures." True enough, I see some wings treating animals as well.

The female knights searched their stuff with magic and quickly let them follow the other Knight who would take them to the maid's quarters. “There are 4 wings in this palace, the East wing, where you would be staying, the West wing for the warriors, the South wing for the high-ranking officials like the knights and the commanders and the North Wing where the ballroom, council room and guest houses are located. “ The female Knight said with authority. “Know your place! When you see someone higher than you, bow immediately to avoid your head being staked!" She said again as the air in the room became thick.

I mumbled. “This is the South Wing,” Lara said softly, voice mechanical like she’d memorized the speech. “Most of the dorms are located here. You’ll be staying in Section C, which is mostly first-years. The North Wing houses the arena, the armory, and most training grounds. The East Wing is for the scholars, and the West is restricted unless permitted.” She kept talking and I zoned out. Because what the hell was this? Some Hogwarts-Meets-Asylum hybrid with gods and monsters thrown in for fun?
