“You brought us to an actual castle. This isn’t even a house. It has towers. Towers, Loria!” I ruffled his curls. “Just wait until you see the library.” His eyes got huge. “There’s a library?!” “A big one,” I said. “And you’re gonna help us map it.” Simon finally peeled Moon off his chest and set her down gently. “Okay, okay, this is all great, but we need a plan. Where’s everyone sleeping?” Audrey strolled up behind me, adjusting her braid and looking completely unbothered by the explosion of activity all around her. “My girls are already sorting that. I’ve got four older witches with room assignment charms. They’re scanning the wings now.”

The old paintings and tapestries that hung on the walls seemed to come alive as you walked past them. The dorm was divided up into sections which were called cabins. It was an area of three or four rooms .. each room had its own bathroom and housed two students. And those rooms shared a common room…. Sooo Harry Potter. The common rooms all had their own fireplace which we kept going at all times during the colder months .. like right now.

We rotated through the wings on a weekly cycle, which meant that before I had grown comfortable in one, I was moved to the next. The Magic wing unsettled me the most. The women who kept it did not look at you directly when they spoke. They addressed the space just beyond your left shoulder, as if whatever stood behind you was more worthy of their attention. The air in that wing carried a metallic taste, like copper coins held too long in a closed fist, and the candles there burned without flickering regardless of whether a door was open. I did not ask questions in the Magic wing. I did not speak unless spoken to, and even then I kept my answers small.

A grin slipped onto his face and he continued, “Welcome to your own little Hogwarts!” Twisting the knob, Nate entered and Eira followed. After hearing the word ‘Hogwarts’ she had built up high expectations. The room wasn’t grand or beautiful. Truthfully, it was dull. First she took in were the shelves with several thick books that looked torn at the edges. There were a few wooden tables with differently shaped candles and pentagrams drawn over them. The walls were lined with crafts and charts that attracted her attention. Most of them were hangings that showed the phases of the moon. There was something written below each picture but it was a foreign language that she couldn’t understand. Sh

Running as fast as I could toward the East Wing, knowing I'd be damned if Marcus, for any reason, dropped by to check on me before bedtime. Letting out a strangled breath as I stepped through the West Wing , my eyes cascaded across the halls. Which one was I meant to check? Cautiously, I dragged my feet, my eyes scanning from one door to the other. But for some reason, deep in my bones, I knew none of them were it. Same for the second floor—until finally, I had gotten to the third.My eyes fixed on an ordinary-looking room. I pushed open the door to find… a closet. broomsticks. Webs. Bins. Nothing special. This morning, we came to check on the living arrangements, and Mom thought it would be best to meet old friends and start spreading the news since I used to summon them from this same forest when I was younger, and I agreed. I reply, my voice steady but clipped with urgency. Lucas gives a nod of his head, then turns on his heel and leads us across the courtyard towards the hospital wing. We follow in silence, the only sounds the crunch of gravel under our boots and the distant hum of construction work continuing behind us. Inside, the hospital smells clean and sterile, the sharp bite of disinfectant hanging in the air. The walls are stark white, and our footsteps echo faintly in the corridor as we move. Lucas walks us down a hallway lined with closed doors. At one point he slows, glancing over his shoulder before stopping in front of a room. He gestures towards it, his voice low.

The palace was divided into four wings: the North Wing, the East Wing, the South Wing, and the West Wing. The North Wing was the grandest of all, with a towering entrance that leads to a grand hall. The hall was lined with intricate ice sculptures, depicting scenes of the northern wilderness, such as wolves, bears and reindeer. The ceiling was adorned with a crystal chandelier that sparkles in the light of the torches. This wing also has several grand halls for events, banquets and gatherings.
