We spent the rest of the afternoon there, digging up quite some distance into the hole I was about to give up when forest started barking even harder, whimpering over and over again as he sniffed at the ground and continued digging. He was acting strange, we were getting close to whatever he wanted us to see, I dug up even faster till my hand touched a sack. It was brown and dirty but there was a sack and there had to be something inside. Forest stepped away and watched as I tried brushing off as much sand as I could from the edges of the sack till I managed to pull it out. I fell back on my ass with the force of pulling it out. The sack held something huge. A book.

The ladies all giggle and Julie stands, handing a new bookmark to each of us. "Yes. We figured we'd get you ones that suited you a little better." she says. The new one is dark blue with gold lettering that says 'Real men read dirty books'. I smile and look over at Ev who's showing Harper his excitedly. "These are great. Thank you." I say just as Bri nudges me. "Oh! Tell them your joke, love!" Harper says excitedly. Ev rolls his eyes before addressing the group.

It contained a single book. “Woah! This is crazy,” Roger whispered. Lazarus walked up to the book, it was in a glass protective casing. “You didn’t know this was here, did you?” Velma asked. “No, I didn’t,” he clarified. Lazarus inspected the book. “What is it?” Nigel demanded. “It’s so beautiful,” Clarke admired. Lazarus gulped when he realized what it was. “It’s the Book of The God’s.”

"When Zion had obtained the Hikasa Manual back then, no one had thought of the use of it, but where did the book go now?" Mango recalled that she seemed to have given it to Henry. Could it be Henry? No! No way! Mango denied it quickly in her heart. "Bettany looked at Mango and whispered, ""Madam, me, the master, and Henry have read the book, and there's someone else who has read it too.""" Walking over, I see her staring at several older books that look like they contain some official manuscripts. There are no titles on the books so without opening them up I have no way of knowing what is in them. Hazel is holding onto one with tears in her eyes. "What is all of this? What is that one that you are holding?" I ask her confused.

He shifts back; putting a seat between us and truly looking horrified. Bibah simply shakes her head at our childish shenanigans and takes a sip of her iced latte, metal straw clinking in the Hydro Flask. “The Awoo Book Club’s pick for this week is H.P Lovecraft.” She pats the voluminous book atop the pile and I notice it’s the library copy of H.P Lovecraft’s Omnibus 3. “I’m so excited to roast his ass.”

French toast, strawberry chops and turkey slices. And a can of coke. Unusual! "Something like what?" He asked, leaning back. "urrrrgh," I scanned the room until my eyes fell on the bookrack in front of me. "This!" I pull out one of the novels. “Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough,” he said immediately, without even glancing at it. He could tell which of the books were missing by just looking at the rest on the rack. “You read it?” There's suspicion in his tone.

The coffee table was cluttered with half-eaten charcuterie boards, a toppled Jenga tower, and enough empty bottles to make us cringe in the morning. We had done it all. Applying face masks while shouting answers at a trivia game, exchanging gifts that somehow ended up with Dove wrapping Khole's present in the hotel's complimentary shower cap because she forgot actual wrapping paper, and dancing in our socks to throwback songs we really should have forgotten by now. Then Khole pulled out a book. She placed a hardcover with her name embossed across the front in gold with First edition boldly written at the down side on the table We all went quiet.

Excitement took over Ophelia immediately and she rushed to grab the book, it never crossed her mind she would find any book on the ship. "I saw Alpha Finlay sitting right in this spot this morning, he read through a few of the pages before leaving. It's titled A Woman's Heart, is it? Heard it's a book you've read so he brought it along with him to read and think..." Gabe hadn't finished speaking when he looked and saw a very silent Ophelia trembling with the book. She had tears brimming in her eyes and was letting out a sniff. Because that wasn't just an ordinary book she had read. It was her favorite.
