Oh, I think I will like that a lot. I stopped reading for a moment and looked in my mate’s direction when I felt his eyes on me and sure enough. He was looking at me. “What are you doing?” He asked through our mind link. “Hillan sent me a healer handbook p*f. That’s what I am reading.” I answered. “There’s a healer handbook?” He asked the same question I asked Hillan when he first told me about the book. “There is. It’s a diary. The healer in his pack made it and she shared it with me. It’s a lot but it’s fun.”

Curiosity slowly replaced part of her confusion afterward. Clara walked carefully toward the bookshelf before pulling out one of the books randomly. She sat down nearby afterward and began flipping through the pages absentmindedly, trying to distract herself from the strange thoughts building inside her head. Time passed quietly afterward. Almost two hours later, H1 entered the study while holding a parcel carefully in its mechanical hands. Clara lifted her eyes toward it immediately before collecting it absentmindedly without asking questions. H1 left shortly afterward while Clara placed the parcel carelessly beside her.

But none of them are what I need. Exhaustion stretches its fingers through me. I rub my eyes, dragging my palms over my face. I haven’t slept since before the claiming, and even then, it was more surrender than rest. But I can’t stop. Not yet. Not until I find something that will help Khael. My hand grazes another book tucked behind the larger volumes. It’s thin. Bound in dark blue fabric. No title. I slide it free. The first page contains only a title: The Curse of Hucow Hollow.

Determined, she stood up straight, her eyes roaming around the room to take in anything she might have missed thus far. There, in the dimmest recess of the corner, was something shining, it was the oldest and dustiest book. Her heart leapt with a mere glimpse of hope. She rushed over, dusting it with her fingers in great sweeps and tracing out the leather cover with her other hand. Her eyes widened as she read the faded words etched onto it: The Curse of the Moonstone.

He still puckered his lips and furrowed his eyebrows like he used to as a kid when he was focused on what he was doing. I chuckled, making him turn toward me. "Hey, sis. When did you get here? I didn't hear you walk in." he asks, making me roll my eyes as I smile foolishly. I kissed his cheek and sat next to him. "Just now. What are you reading?" I asked, making him clear his throat as he looked at the back of the book and showed me the cover. "Uh, Pound The Stone, by," "Joshua Medclaff," I said, feeling proud. "Good choice," I added, making him chuckle. "So you've read it?"

Nice porch with a rocking chair and a hammock on it. But just inside I noticed her. Kamari. Her hair was tucked back behind an ear. Feet propped up on the arm of the couch whilst she aimlessly leafed through a book. The title was a dark choice but one I had read before. The Haunting of Hill House. A twisted book that made you catch your breath at every turn. Behind her was the kitchen. Her father was standing there, kneading from what I could see. Nolan had only mentioned her address once. When he thought she would come here or to the cafe. I never realized I knew it by heart.

God he's so handsome. "What new books have you been reading?" I set my fork down, ready to go into full detail about the book, and he laughed. "The Invisible Life Of Addie Larue. It's such an amazing book and I think Henry has my heart. Not finished yet, but basically it's about this woman, Addie, who prays to the Gods after dark, something your not supposed to do, and makes a deal with the devil." We sat for a good thirty minutes of me just explaining the book and instead of him complaining zoning out, he listened. "I'd like to read it sometime soon."

I go the opposite way, painstakingly reading each and every title. “Callie!” Alice exclaims excitedly. “I think I found something.” I hurry over, seeing her pull a smaller black book off the shelf. There’s no title on this book, only a gold Baphomet overlaid on the leather. “The Book of the Beast,” I whisper, eyes lighting up. “I think you did find something.” She cracks the spine and I lean over, heart racing. And then the library doors open and close with a boom, echoing throughout the entire room. Alice and I both jump, and she quickly shoves the book into her cloak.

Hazel's POV We all headed downstairs with an arm load of books and scrolls and every valuable piece of paper we could carry. As we reached the living room, I heard Lorena gasp in surprise. "What's all this?" she asked. We put the books on the center table and arranged them the best we could. "We found them in a hole in Chelsea's floor."

Then I noticed the cover of the book, it has a hole round shape in it and an anchor then ship wheel in it. I look at the three objects in my hand and the book. I put two and two together and realized something. I connected the dots and placed the three objects into the holes in the cover of the book. I was almost blinded when it shined so bright. I let out a surprise gasp when the book floated and automatically flipped the pages. It stopped at one page. The book slowly landed back down on the bed. I let out a deep breath and decided to read what the book was showing me.
