“I didn’t call you,” I hissed.
The eye behind the seam—still open, still watching—blinked once, slow.
“YES, YOU DID,” the voice whispered through bone. “BOND IS CALL.”
The Hollow King stayed close behind me, calm as ever. “It wants a vessel,” he murmured. “And Kieran is… convenient.”
Kieran tilted his head, listening as if he could hear the Hollow King’s words directly. “Convenient,” he echoed with a soft laugh. “That’s a kind way to say it.”
