Elisa took a deep breath. “We’re in love, and I found out he’s my mate.” Her father’s face darkened. “He told me he can tell the mate bond, so he said we should get married faster than ever,” Elisa explained, but her father’s reaction shocked her. “I won’t let that happen!” Alpha August thundered, his anger palpable. “Father!” Elisa exclaimed, her voice laced with frustration. Alpha August’s expression turned stern as he moved closer to her. “I won’t let my only daughter, the future Alpha of my pack, marry into that family,” he said, his voice firm.

The taller one nearly tripped over his own feet when he spotted us, then flushed crimson and bolted. Elsa chuckled. “New recruits. They think anything with boobs is terrifying.” “Understandable,” I said lightly. “Maren terrifies me most of the time.” “Good,” she said. “That means she's doing her job.” We walked farther, past the stables, rows of sleek, muscular horses that looked as wild as the wolves themselves. One snorted as I reached out tentatively, and Elsa caught my wrist.

I could see Tristan rubbing his hand after Marik's crushing handshake and that made me smile even more. “And who is this divine beauty?” Marik asked as he faced Elsa. She blushed instantly and bowed her head, Tristan then quickly put his arm around her and placed his hand on her tummy, clearly trying to claim his mate and child.
