The fierce sonic waves could not reach them. While the bat wasn't paying full attention, they charged past it. Haris and his six men rushed in before the bat could stop Adrian and Lyra. Haris’ group was met with the giant bat's sonic attack, and all of them stopped in their tracks. Several intermediate seventh-levels coughed up blood and collapsed. After the attack subsided, Haris was seriously injured. There were now only two intermediate seventh-levels who could fight left. "Damn this thing that’s hiding here!" Haris shouted in disbelief as he looked at the bat that almost filled the entire passage. "Kill it!"

They gave way and I saw Hayden in his wolf form ripping everything he could see. "Hayden!" I yelled. His head snapped towards me and I could see his eyes black. Zane had taken over. He was snarling. The assassin laughed. “You’re too late, Alpha,” the man hissed. “The Moon has already chosen.” Ronan ripped his throat out. Blood sprayed across the courtyard. I stared, frozen, horror and something darker twisting in my gut.
