The Day I Walked Again Was The Day I Lost My Husband
"...renowned across three continents for what many call miracle work, restoring mobility to patients previously told they would never walk again..."
I do not remember wheeling myself closer to the doors. I only remember that I was suddenly there, staring at a man on the screen with kind eyes and a calm voice, talking about spines and nerve regeneration and case studies I did not understand, and somewhere underneath all of it, a single word kept beating against my ribs like something trying to get out.
Hope.
I had buried that word a long time ago. It felt strange to feel it stir again, almost painful, the way blood rushes back into a limb that has been asleep too long.
