Then entered them both. Aria collapsed to her knees, her body trembling. Kaelion rushed to her side, his mark blazing. “It’s starting,” he said. Aria nodded, her voice thin. “The child is coming.” Luna knelt beside her. “We’ll protect you.” Aria gripped her hand. “Protect them.” The Hollowed arrived at dawn. Cloaked in ash, crowned in silence. Their marks were inverted, their eyes hollow. They didn’t speak. They simply moved. And the Grove responded.

We said goodbye and I headed to the address Nick had texted me. As I walked into the shop a friendly gentleman greeted me. “Miss Clarke, Mr. Thorn said to expect you.” “He did,” I sounded surprised. “I have the bottles ready for you.” We walked over to the counter, and he showed me the bottles. First was Chateau Montelena chardonnay and the second was a bottle of Macallan 18-year-old double cask whiskey. I nodded, not having a clue. I watched as he boxed the bottles up and placed a gift ribbon around each of them.

The symbol inside the Hollow burned into my vision. The compass. My compass. Identical. For a moment, I forgot how to breathe. “That… can’t be possible,” I whispered. Yet the truth pulsed through the bond, undeniable. The Hollow wasn’t simply born from imbalance. It had once been balance itself. The creature roared, its massive body writhing as silver, gold, and white light clashed against the darkness surrounding it. Cracks spread across its form, revealing flashes of the same radiant energy glowing within me.

"And I am done running." The rock in my hand felt like a toy against the blue-flame monstrosities pouring through the fissure. The first Hollow lunged, its fingers elongated into glowing talons. "Back!" Kael roared. He moved with a fluidity that defied his gaunt frame. The blade sliced through the air, leaving a trail of black smoke. When it hit the Hollow, the blue fire was absorbed into the blade. The creature let out a dry, rattling shriek and dissolved into a pile of grey ash.

"They seem interesting." Host, "Ohh, at the south corner, a brawny man dominating the area with his massive force!" The strong man holds a morning star weapon. Its spiky ball made in iron is easily swayed by him, crushing his opponents in a single throw. "We have also a crazy man here in the north area." The tall and skinny man, holding two knives is crazily laughing while attacking the defenseless kids. He chose the easiest opponent to kill. "What a coward," Akane uttered watching him. She was about to step forward to attack him herself, but was ceased by Himari tightly and shakes her head, telling her not to do anything.

I shouted, aiming the LED ahead. “They’re fleeing to Quaker Hall.” “Where’s Kujo?” I asked, turning the bend that led to the old Rockwell tunnels and the access to Quaker Hall basement. “Right ahead.” I heard growls, and the phone app spat some insults. “Back, you fuckers!” I bellowed, pressing on down the tunnel. “Outta here or I’m gonna fucking burn you all to hell!”

They didn’t scream when their flesh sizzled. “They’re called Hollowborn,” Damon said beside me, voice cold. “Made from dark rites. Blood and bones of traitors. Controlled by soulbinds.” I turned to him. “You’ve seen them before?” He nodded once. “When I was a slave in Dagonhold. They don’t bleed like us.
