She breathed a sigh of relief as she flipped open the book, eager to delve into its contents and find the answers she was looking for. The previous night, she had only briefly glimpsed at the title, without taking the time to look at the book's content. As Raven perused the pages, she couldn't help but notice that the vast collection of books that surrounded her were paranormal books.

"They have, ever since she was born." Cassandra set the little serpent among the piles of gold coins. The creature sagged in defeat and exhaustion after lying before that terrible fire. "There it is," Vasilisa's voice came from behind a mountain of walnut-sized raw rubies. It wasn't hard to find the book. It was placed on a golden stand in between two golden Sirin statues. The grimoire turned out to be the largest book Cassandra had ever seen, with pages made of parchment illuminated with tracery, and it was open to a page thickly covered with elegant, intricate writing.

She kneeled beside a locked iron chest, whispered a spell under her breath, and opened it. The air dropped ten degrees. Inside lay a thick, ancient book wrapped in dark leather that looked almost… alive. The Book of the Damned. Its surface pulsed faintly. Rhea swallowed. “That thing creeps me out.” “It should,” Violet said simply. She carried it with both hands and placed it on the oak table. As she flipped open the pages, black ink shimmered like oil. Kael stepped closer. Fenrak crossed his arms, expression changing from playful to serious.

His wrinkled face looked like it was crawling with countless wriggling worms. I shuddered and stepped back, whispering to Silvia, "Good thing I've got you. This place is terrifying." Before I could react, George gestured, and several eerie puppets stepped forward to pin me down and drain my blood. A sharp bell rang out, echoing through the night.

I have no idea. The books were old, some pages are rotten and smell like mushrooms in a wet forest. I smiled when I realized that these books were precious. And they were all about my kind, the Helsings. For hours, all I did was read and get drowned in these pile of books. I have never been flooded with knowledge unlike before.
