The hunger, the need to satisfy the monster inside of me is evident, I can feel it and it's taking a toll on me, almost like she's fighting with me.

Struck the mother lode with all those Mary Higgins Clark novels.” “We cater to all tastes, miss. Unless you like Twilight, 50 Shades of Gray or James Patterson. Folks want drivel, they can drive to Utica.” “Hey. I actually liked Twilight. It wasn’t all bad.”

There was only one way to do this so that he won’t spend the whole day in here. He had to look under the tag, ‘absurd monsters’, and grab all the books on the trees. It would only make sense like that. He walked over to the other side labeled, ‘supernatural;’ and grabbed the books he saw. This whole place was starting to look like a maze.

Then, from outside: "You're awake?" I went tense. He was standing on the other side of the door, and he didn't come in. "Do you want me to come in?" I gripped the blanket. After a long moment I said, my voice scraped and rough. "I dreamed about the coffin again." The corridor was silent for a moment. Then, very quietly. "Was it the same as that night?" "Yes." I paused. "My mother's Turning failed. She died in one. So I'm afraid of the dark, afraid of small closed spaces."

Thalia snapped, sword already gleaming in the lantern light. Nyra nocked an arrow, her eyes narrowed, calculating. “We’ll never hold them all off if they surround us.” Elias’ jaw set. “We don’t. We cut through and get out.” Simple. Brutal. The only chance we had. The first monster lunged, bursting through a bookcase with a screech that rattled the glass in the windows. Its face was a grotesque smear of features—mouth too wide, teeth crooked like shards of glass, eyes empty hollows rimmed with gold.

Phoebe seemed more invested in fox spirits, her fingers traced the intricate drawings, her gaze never leaving. Following her line of sight, I saw the drawing of a fox with nine tails, its eyes ignited with a violet glow, looking so divine and magnificent. “V
