Unlike novels, these textbooks were dense with information, constantly branching off into a new subject matter before I could blink. Elemental magic with its day and night dependency, tracked by the schedule of the moon. Blood magic, jeweled hilts that enhance pain and pleasure, amplifying magical curses and hexes. Seers, oracles, and tricksters. Monsters, ghouls, and creatures I had no name for. As I child, I slept soundly. I never feared the monster beneath my bed because I had always been under the impression that werewolves were the only beasts in this world worth fearing. I had never thought, nor could I have imagined some of the creatures within the pages of this book.

Maybe she could ask Zoran if she could spend a couple of hours here every day. Walking down the isles, she noticed all kinds of books. Some on witchcraft, others on vampires, elves, unicorns, dragons.. everything she’s ever read a fantasy book about, there was plenty of information on it. Just as she was going back to the first floor to wait on Zoran, she saw it. The werewolf section. She couldn’t control herself. She had already glanced at all the other books but those. Slowly, she made her way over, looking at all the titles and covers. Finally, she found what she was looking for. Reaching up, her fingertips grazed the spine as a hand grabbed her wrist.

I did the research. On my whole lower arm, these are my favorite monsters in fiction: Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, the Hunchback of Notre Dame, and course, a zombie. If those creatures were somehow real, they were all in a whole lot of trouble.
