The sound had imprinted itself into her skull, echoing until she thought she might go mad. The road finally curved into a clearing. The cabin loomed like something torn from an old, half forgotten nightmare. Weather beaten wood, peeling paint, and a sagging porch spoke of years of neglect. The surrounding pines whispered with the wind, their shadows clawing at the windows. “This is it,” Chloe said softly, her own unease clear in her voice. Tessa stared at the cabin, dread seeping into her bones. “It looks… haunted.” Chloe forced a nervous laugh. “It’s just old. My aunt doesn’t come here anymore. That’s why it’s perfect. No one will think to look.”

Fear gnawed at her insides, threatening to overwhelm her. Suddenly, Adrian skidded to a halt, his eyes widening in alarm. "Look," he muttered, pointing ahead. Samantha followed his gaze and gasped in horror. Before them stood a dilapidated cabin, its windows boarded up and its roof caved in. It looked like something straight out of a nightmare. "We have no choice," Adrian said grimly. "We'll have to take our chances inside." With trembling hands, Samantha pushed open the creaky door, revealing a dark interior shrouded in shadows. The air was musty and thick with dust, sending a shiver down her spine.

I had to make sure I was safe. I turned away from the window to study the cabin more thoroughly. It was unexpectedly well-furnished, with a warm fireplace, a solid hardwood bed, and a tiny kitchen. There were also bookcases stocked with volumes about werewolf history, mythology, and strategies. The cabin felt almost like home, in stark contrast to the constant fear and peril I had felt as a rebel. Despite the beautiful surroundings, I couldn't get over the feeling of being watched. I knew Kloss would be looking at me, either directly or indirectly. I needed to keep vigilant.

Aurora The cabin is small, stuffy, with a horrible stench of animal flesh and burnt cedar radiating through the small space. There’s a kitchen fit for one person at a time, chunks of meat set out on the counter, fresh and bloody from a recent kill. I hurried over and tapped the man. "Hey, are you okay?" My hand touched his back, and I froze. A chill ran through me. I turned him over. Every muscle in me locked up. It was the guy from 603. He had multiple stab wounds to the chest, blood soaking his clothes and the mattress beneath him. I nearly collapsed to the floor. What the hell was going on? "Are you out of your fucking mind?" A furious shout rang out from downstairs. It was Jacob. Worried he might run into the killer somewhere in the building, I pushed open the stairwell door and hurried downstairs. In the darkness, my foot struck something, and I nearly tumbled down the stairs.

Chapter 3(unedited) The light in the cabin flickered, on and off before going off. Did I tell you that I hate darkness? The only light in the cabin is the light from the thunder outside. My hand closing my ear every time the light brightens inside the cabin. Add that to the list, thunder with flashes of light. Just the right combination for a perfect horror story.
