" Martha clears her throat as she enters my office, stirring me from my thoughts. "Please, sit down." I smile down at Martha, laying on my best playboy charm. "Thank you, Mr. Velimir." "Please call me Hades; Mr. Velimir sounds so formal." Martha's cheeks blush red as she fans herself with the manila folder she's brought in. "May I?" I ask as I leave my drink on the windowsill and walk toward my desk, standing directly behind Martha, my hand just barely grazing hers as I reach for the folder.

Those whose crimes warrant a sentence to eternal punishment were sent to the darkest regions of Erebus or down the pit of Tartarus. There stood a great palace made of black rock and crystal, the abode of a tall slender goddess Hades. Her majestic black robe and puissant look made those around her cower in fear. Mortals were afraid to even mention her name. Very few knew her as Áïda. Perhaps for fear of pronouncing it, they started calling her Hades.

She realized this place was another cage, just a much prettier one. As the sun began to dip below the horizon, painting the sky in fiery oranges and purples, Hades appeared. He was no longer in a suit, but dark jeans and a fitted black shirt that hugged his powerful frame. He held two motorcycle helmets. “Ready for a ride, baby girl?” he asked, a hint of wild excitement in his eyes. He led her through a concealed door off the living room, into a large, climate-controlled garage. Inside, amidst several luxury cars, sat a sleek, powerful black motorcycle. It gleamed under the lights, looking like a predator. “Hop on,” he commanded.

The last of May unfolded in a haste, as though someone pushed the button for the fast forward, as though the calendar changed its day for only an hour. Hail and his members were renting a cabin in the Zorphean’s Villa. Unlike the normal housing system, theirs were massive and impregnable, its walls that were made with strong bamboo were painted with mint-green, decorated by what seemed to be a blank canvas, its sides curled with a silky, furry fabric. It only had three rooms, a sink, a comfort room, and two foam-made benches, standing alongside, facing an overlarge window, overlooking the dull, cloud-filled horizon.

So if I can just get it on time, I'll have more time to carry out the main reason I'm here. I hide myself behind a wall as a group of drunk men stumble down the hall. When their voices fade out, I make my appearance again, disappearing inside an open door. Javier's office. I take out my flash drive from my hair and open his laptop. The passcode is easy to hack but when I successfully get in, there are no files. "What the fuck?" I check all the folders, but they're empty except one. It has images of various beach houses and the first thing that comes to my head is that these are possible locations of operation.

Tim instructed his men to move the car away. Kaze entered the casino. He saw the written-off Audi A4 in the middle of the casino right away, and he was furious. “Who is Hades?” Kaze asked with a blank face. His voice was not loud, but everybody in the casino heard him. The bustling casino quieted down. Hades was about to head upstairs when he turned his attention to the source of the voice. He narrowed his eyes at Kaze without a word. “And who are you? What business do you have with my boss?”

Author's POV The Haven of Shadows did not look like a fortress. From the winding mountain road above Lake Tahoe, it appeared to be exactly what it claimed, a private luxury villa carved into the Nevada mountainside. Glass walls overlooking dark water. Heated stone terraces. Subtle perimeter lighting. Discreet but expensive security. Motion sensors tracked wildlife. Cameras swept the tree line. The private gate at the base of the drive required biometric clearance and rotating access codes. To mortal eyes, it was wealth. But to supernatural senses, it was something else entirely.

"Chaos, where have you been?" Khione whispered worriedly to herself as she looked back and forth at the door. About eight o'clock he arrived at the mansion, but all he saw was that Hades' car was no longer in the garage. The de Viergo couple is also very close to each other now that he has just seen that. It seemed like the weight of the atmosphere throughout the mansion earlier. He wanted to ask them where Hades was but he didn't want to make trouble first.
