--- Hera's POV The haunted house was Darryn's idea, and I should have seen it coming. We had been in the park for an hour. He had gone on two rides that looked like engineering accidents and came off both of them looking like a man who had just had an excellent conversation. I had stood on the ground, smiled, and pretended I was choosing not to ride rather than being physically incapable of it. Then he stopped in front of a building with a sign that read "Blackwood House" and looked at me. "No," I shook my head. I could take anything else, but you see a haunted house? I get freaked out very easily.

“Justus knew I couldn’t ride an e-scooter, so he specially prepared a car for me.” “Oh, I see…” Jevon cut her off. “Director. Get to the point.” Seeing he wasn’t in a good mood, the director hurried on. “It’s nothing major. Just a reminder—someone spotted a snake nearby today. Staff will accompany you back to the rental house to inspect it, just in case one slipped inside.” Lilith’s face turned pale instantly. “A snake?! How could there be a snake?!” Goselle remained calm. “The doors of our ‘haunted house’ don’t have gaps, and the windows face outward. A snake shouldn’t be able to crawl in, right?”

I stayed silent. "The apartment where she had that accident was a company unit assigned to her," Stan said. "It's been empty ever since the accident. Later, the company wanted to take the place back, but the staff they sent over all got badly spooked. Over time, rumors that the place was haunted started to spread." He looked at me, his gaze sharpening. "But that changed when you showed up. When I first saw your rental address, I was shocked. I honestly thought you'd be running out of there in tears within three days. But you didn't.

Great. “I think they forgot to add the sign that says definitely not cursed or haunted,” Vivienne muttered as she eyed the row of identical, dilapidated homes with their eyeless windows where nothing aside from the darkness watched her right back. “Uh-uh. No way. I’ve seen movies. I’ve watched The Blair Witch Project and Children of the Corn. This is every super haunted town in a Hollywood production. Nope.”

He said. “Witches. They’ve used a spell and the vampires are now using these people as potential hostages.” I said. “What do we do?” Dean asked. “We keep with the plan. We’re going after them. We’re attacking the house and ending this today.” I said, with nothing but determination in my voice. As soon as the house in question didn’t seem to have any movement left we surrounded the place and looked for booby traps and anything that might be around to alert them to us coming.

The building was still as cold as they remembered. The corridors were silent to death. Dim lights add to the chillness of the walls. A certain odour lingered in the dark holes in the walls. It was a castle. But it seemed like nobody lived in it. A faint hint of blood entered Max's nostrils and he held his breath. It burnt his inside.

"Where is she?" I shrugged. It was obvious to anyone that I was the only one with my computer screen still turned on and illuminating my face. His question suddenly sounded a little dumb. The next day, when Lacey appeared at the company, she was immediately stopped by Xavier at the door, who had waited up for her all night. He sniffed around Lacey like a bloodhound. Then, his expression turned dark almost at once. "You weren't at the company last night. And this smell didn't come from our home. Where have you been, and what did you do last night?"

"Emma went out to meet a client today. Could it be her in the elevator?" Anna's face went completely pale. "Oh my God. I was already joking with her about being wrapped up like a burrito. She's only been here a month. This is too horrible." Seeing the blood on the floor, others gasped in shock. "She just graduated from grad school. So young, and already…" "She was a little strange at first, but she was a good person. How could something like this happen to her?" The murmurs grew louder, filled with stunned disbelief and sorrow.

"This place isn't like the living world. Skincare and makeup products are scarce, and only the rich can afford them. "In our horror game, the cosmetics are provided by the studio, but because our instance performs so poorly, our budget is tiny. That's why our makeup never looks good and fails to draw in viewers." I caught a word in her explanation. "Viewers?" She gave a small clap. "Exactly. The live comments in horror games aren't from humans—they come from ghosts watching the stream. It's the same as how you humans watch reality shows." I raised a brow. "So there are a lot of ghosts tuning in?"
