Lurking in the Dark - Book 2

Lurking in the Dark - Book 2

They or we? The other party that threw our world into chaos was the self-proclaimed animal welfare organization Live for Animals. In an act of charity they broke into Doctor Christopher Krynick's research laboratory to bring the animals to safety. Unfortunately they had no idea what was going on and a well-meaning rescue operation turned into a global catastrophe. The proles first killed their rescuers and then escaped from the research facility to bring a plague of unprecedented proportions to the world. When a hand came to rest on my shoulder and slowly brushed the back of my neck, I tried to ignore the tingling sensation. "You can leave that nice. I'm still mad at you. "

The Queen And The Freak

The Queen And The Freak

I asked her curiously as I sat comfortably on her couch and the three of them sat on the big one adjacent to mine. "Well, I believe that there's nothing to be scared of. The ghosts, vampires, witches, and werewolves are just in the books. Right? Fiction. Not real." My oblivious girlfriend explained, and that made the three of us, supermarket beings, look at each other. If you just knew, Pryce. None of us here is purely human. "Uh, yeah, yeah. They're just in the books. Horror books. They are a product of one's creative minds… and to scare people." Sander agreed with her best friend. Now, I really don't know how we will tell Pryce about the whole truth.

love it so far but 1 chapter a week is killing me. A lot of my other reads are adding atleast 4 chapters a week. These writers need to have a few chapters ready to put down easily before even putting it on here instead of making it up as they go and taking forever to get new chapters out

Love is a Horror Story

Love is a Horror Story

“Sa piling kasi ng mahal nila, doon nila nahahanap ang kanilang sarili.” “Ah…” “Blue…” “Hmm…” “May tanong pa ako sa’yo.” “Inatake na naman ang curiosity mo. Ako naman ang magtatanong sa’yo. Kung isasapeikula ang buhay natin, ano kaya ang magiging genre?” “Hmm… Romance?” “Mali.” “Eh ano?” “Horror. Ikaw ba naman may kasamang sleepwalker na tumatawa na parang mangkukulam gabi-gabi.”

Reincarnation : A paranormal horror

Reincarnation : A paranormal horror

I apologize that this book is really short with less than 30k words in all. I plan to edit it at some point and make it better. I figured that a really long Horror book might be less interesting and would just seem drawn out. I've not read a lot of them but I watch horror movies so I wrote this like I would picture an Horror movie. I appreciate all those who stuck with me and read Reincarnation regardless. Thank you all. After saying this, I would love and appreciate your feedbacks and things to watch out for when I do edit the book. It would be really helpful and appreciated.

Fix My Broken Heart

Fix My Broken Heart

He shrugged. Tumikhim ako at napabuntong hininga. "Hmmm. I love reading books." "What book?" He asked softly. "Novels. More on Rom-com and fantasy." "What about horror?" He asked. Nakakunot ko siyang binalingan. "Ayaw ko nun! Nakakatakot!" I react violently. He chuckled bago natahimik at napa-isip. "Hmmm... Erotic book?" Nanlaki ang mga mata ko ng binalingan siya. "Ew...kadiri ka! Siguro nagbabasa ka nun noh?" Nagugulat na tanong ko.

Spurned Luna's Return: On Your Knees, Alpha Chase!

Spurned Luna's Return: On Your Knees, Alpha Chase!

"Nah! No third option, Riri," Beatrix gulped. The title of the second book was 'The troublesome flowers'. It may seem like an interesting book about beautiful ladies and romance but really it's not. It was a horror story. Half a page of this book that she glanced at last year made her have sleepless nights. This book served the purpose of building the heart's strength and courage. A wizard or witch from time to time would go on missions. None of them was a stroll in the park. If one was not valiant, he/she wouldn't be able to do so. But she was still a babe. How can he read this sort of book to her? Is he truly her brother?

A thrilling and immersive werewolf story filled with suspense, romance, and heart-pounding action. The characters are deeply compelling, the world-building is vivid, and the twists will keep you hooked until the very last page!

In another app it's missing this last chapter. Here i see that it's still Ongoing and i agree because this last chapter isn't completing the story. But all the comments are from months or years ago, like yours is 2 years ago (author). Is this book not going 2be finished?

Things You Need

Things You Need

The boy protested with, “But Mama, the spider moved! I was playing with it and it moved all by itself!” The strange-familiar middle-aged woman slapped the light switch on the wall as she left, plunging the office back into darkness. Panic thrummed through John as he scrambled for the light switch, slapping desperately until he flipped it back on. Relief flooded through him, but it was short-lived, because as he stepped back from the light switch, he glanced up at the bookshelves against the far wall—two blue shelves normally filled with miscellaneous horror, science fiction and mystery titles, with everything from William Hope Hodgson to Bentley Little to Agatha Christie—and gasped: They wer

Reborn from Ashes

Reborn from Ashes

There's nothing quite as invigorating as introducing a one-shot full of conspiracies and, because I'm a horror expert, and Werewolf Apocalypse isn't just a fighting game, there's a lot that can happen. Including a Black Spiral Dancer against the appearance of a real White Howler. “Let the games begin,” I said, starting to tell the story. ************ Note: Don't forget to like, comment, and share the book! This really helps it grow on the platform

Luna's Unwanted Mate

They held the secrets of a person's soul, or so I liked to think. Horrors, mysteries, war stories… a menagerie of genres. Viktor's taste? Or one of the others? My fingers brushed over leather-bound spines, the lettering faded with age. Mythology and Cryptozoology. Lycanthropy. Intriguing. I settled on the couch, the leather cool under me.

Rejected By The Alpha, Cursed By The Moon Goddess

Rejected By The Alpha, Cursed By The Moon Goddess

Thane dragged, “you mean everything, right?” I could see his point. Everything here gave me the creeps and made me feel uncomfortable—everything down to the creepy fur rug that covered the floor of this study, or whatever she might have chosen to call this place. “How about these?” Thane asked, drawing my attention to a shelf full of creepy books and tomes. “Not that. Creepy, but not creepy enough,” I said. “I smell blood and death all over them,” he said. “Fun, but not what I’m looking for,” I replied.

Frequently Asked Questions

Horror and thriller suspense feel like separate rides at an amusement park, you know? Horror’s engine is dread. It builds that sinking feeling, the sense something is profoundly wrong and unavoidable. Think about how Shirley Jackson’s 'The Haunting of Hill House' makes the house itself feel like a character you can’t trust. The suspense comes from waiting for the floor to give way, psychologically or literally.

Thrillers are more about propulsion. That page-turning need to know what happens next, who did it, how the plan unfolds. Lee Child’s Jack Reacher books are a masterclass in this—you follow a puzzle, a chase, a countdown. The tension is active, like a clock ticking down. Horror wants you to feel trapped; a thriller makes you feel like you’re running alongside the protagonist, trying to outpace the danger.

I find myself skimming pages in a thriller sometimes, just to get to the next reveal. With horror, I’m more likely to put the book down for a minute to breathe, because the atmosphere gets under my skin in a different way. The unease lingers after the last page.
