Mary had been working as a maid in Brenda's household for several days now, and she had grown accustomed to the various quirks and idiosyncrasies of the family. But there was one thing that she couldn't shake off - the way that Brenda's father looked at the maidservants.

One of the maids from the main house overheard her and suddenly stepped forward, slapping the nurse hard across the face. “Who do you think you are, talking like that?” the maid snarled. “We only listen to Madam. As she passed by she's greeted by some of them which she replied earnestly and asks direction to the kitchen.
