How I Built This Book Novels & Stories

Built for the reasons I decided, structured the way I decided, with no one at the top of it except me. I could feel the particular quiet excitement of it moving through me, different from the drive of ambition I had spent years performing inside my father's company, different because this was mine, because no one had handed it to me or built it around keeping me in line, because I would build it from nothing and it would be exactly what I made it. I picked up the pen and started writing, and for the first time in a very long time the blank page did not feel like a problem.

He stood at the head of the table, rolled up his sleeves, and began—not with charts or quarterly projections, but with a story. “Fourteen years ago, I was broke, angry, and too proud to admit I had no idea what I was doing. I slept on a floor in Chinatown and coded out of a library because I couldn’t afford rent and Wi-Fi.” The room was stunned into stillness. “I built this company because I was desperate to matter,” he continued. “And I kept building it because I didn’t know how to stop.” Someone at the end of the table cleared their throat, clearly uncomfortable.

I need to get out from this building before I became a roasted human meat. I strongly tapped my feet on the floor because of my foolishness, creating a thud. All my sacrifices came to nothing. Suddenly, a warm liquid rolled down to my face. I ran towards the door but suddenly the ceiling collapsed so I fell back a few meters from it. The black smoke began to thicken inside the room. I slumped on the floor until my chest tightened. I patted it a few times with my clenched fist but no matter what I did, I couldn’t breathe properly. The black smoke is suffocating me.

This book is dedicated to Bukade—my awesome friend who's helped me very very much in the creation of this book, and Favour Edem, too—my first love, for taking her time to explain stuffs about Werewolves, and Vamps, and Witches to me. Another over another several times. The more I read it, the quieter it became. The panic I felt inside of me suddenly disappeared, and all that was left was the sound of my breathing and the words in front of me. It wasn’t just random ideas. It was structured and careful like someone was building something piece by piece. Titles, plots, and notes scribbled in between.

The heat of the afternoon sun was nothing compared to the slow-burning fuse lit deep within Orion’s chest. As he navigated the manicured lawn, his presence acted like a tidal wave, parting the sea of socialites and businessmen. Right now, I am already planning a book and creating chapters so that I can update everyday! My fault is that, I should have written this book prior to the dates. Thank you guys!
