How Long Should A Book Chapter Be Novels & Stories

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Thank you for reading! I would like to address some concerns some of you have. No; this book is not going to be hundreds of chapters long. I meant it when I said it would be sweet and short. We probably have just around 20 chapters or so to complete it. Also, I know updates have been slow. That's because I've had exams for the past two weeks. I'm in my final year of undergrad, and it's really hard trying to balance writing with studies and exams, but I try my best to update as much as I can. I hope you understand. I realized too late, that if I wanted my book to be perfect in every way (because I'm also a keen perfectionist and when I want something done, I want it to be perfect) I should have finished it first. Having said that, I made a promise to myself (and now to you) that my next book will not be published until it is done from its cover to its epilogue. But right now, i want you to be just a little patient with me, and wait for multiple chapters that will be published at the same time every now and then without giving up on it or removing it from your library. Most have asked how long the book will be. My editor and I are still discussing it, but it should be around 300 chapters because it will have Zane and Ian's story incorporated. He wrote it in three days. The tenth chapter was the last chapter before the final act, and Elian wrote it the way he wrote all the chapters that mattered most — slowly, with the long-breath sentences, each one holding decades in the space of a paragraph, the pace of having-been. The chapter was about the daily things.

Since the first day this book aired on this platform, a year ago, to now, i've evolved as a writer and the course of the book has changed quite a number of times over the months. I set out to entertain people with my writing, that has not changed, what has, however, is my style, the story telling, the story setting, the character developments and so on. I never intended for the book to be a hundred chapters long, believe me, so i realized it was dragging out, taking too long and i had to do something about it.
