I drawled, walking up to him to fix his shirt.
“Not quite, but I could show you what is.”
His hands slid up my back, flattening until they reached my neck. I stilled, my eyes meeting his with a taunting smirk.
“What makes you think this is happening again? In fact, I could walk out those doors and never see you again. It’s the last day. No more goofy remarks, secret missions, or silent contracts. We said it was the end of an era and, as it would, this is the finale. The end of the great war.”
