How To Get Stone Breathing In Demon Fall Novels & Stories

I staggered back, clutching my chest, vision flashing violet at the edges. Mother gasped. “Ivy…Calm down, stop and breathe.” But my breath came jagged, raw. The walls seemed to bend inward, the floor trembled under my feet. Something inside me clawed, desperate to rip free. And then, like a rope thrown to a drowning soul, Damon’s sigil lit up in my mind. That spiral curve, that deliberate breath, the grounding mark he pressed into my skin. I traced it into my palm with shaking fingers, inhaled once, twice, like he had taught me.

The pain just… gone. Placing my other palm on the stone, I lean my weight into my hands and let my head fall, taking a deep breath in through my nose, then letting it out through my mouth. Shadow energy pulses beneath my touch and grows around me. A heartbeat that aligns with my own, easing the burn inside me with every throb.

It gives me something to focus on other than the filth I'm willingly pulling into my own body. I breathe it into me... Or more like my demon pulls it from her body, and when I start to feel her move beneath me, I pull back and exhale, the poison being cleansed inside my body and I see the poison eject into clear smoke. I growl into the air as I watch the poison dissipate into the sky. I didn't know I'd be so exhausted, but I don't regret it at all. I sigh in relief knowing she'll be good now.

We run and see another open door, we look inside and it's the same demon with our bodies under him, smiling and waving. "I can't do this," Brittany runs taking her hand away from mine. She runs down and turns a corner in the hallway. I run after her and turn the corner, it's a dead end. I start to breathe rapidly, I can feel the air getting thinner as it gets hard for me to breathe. I turn around to look towards the door, I see the hand of the demon emerge from the room, clenching the wall, pulling itself forward to peak its smiling face at me.

He steadies me and takes the backpack from my hand. "I'm fine, Nick." He released me and stepped back, placed the backpack on the ground, and unzipped it. No time like the present! After a deep breath and squinting my eyes, I flexed my palms downward and called for the wind. Nothing happens. "I could use a little help here, Lauren." Nothing but the crashing of the falls meeting the rocks. The stone around my neck has butted out as well. With a roll of my neck and a flex of my shoulders, I refocus and try again. Nothing.

The scent of old stone and ash and burned wards clung stubbornly to the air. It smelled wrong. It smelled like underground. Her lungs refused to draw a full breath. Just for a second, she was back there. Suspended. Helpless. The scrape of chains in her ears. The hum of magic crawling under her skin. Haley stopped. Her hand flattened against the wall. Count. That’s what Lila had taught her. Three breaths. In through the nose. Out through the mouth. The first breath barely made it past her throat. Her heart began to hammer.

The Cintamani stone, twinkling in a faint bluish light, was in her hand. "What is this?" asked Cole in a low voice, his eyes wary. Lilith put on a malicious, triumphant smile. The stone started to hover in the air, moving slowly towards one of the stone pedestals across the room. Then I watched Silas step forward, holding the sacred blade in his hand, and he threw it to Cole, who caught it with a puzzled look on his face. "All you have to do is pick up the stone, and it's yours," she said in a taunting tone.

I drop his head and his heart to the ground and then watch as they, along with his body, turn to smokey ash as it is finally able to be called back to its master in hell below. I shake the Demons blood from my hands and walk over to where the female is lying on the ground, as I bend down and slide one of my arms under her legs and the other under the back of her shoulders I take a deep breath in and have to hold in a growl at how strong and overwhelming her scent is.

I tightly hold on to him because I don’t want to let go of him. While feeling his soft lips on mine a lightning strike the night sky and when I opened my eyes he wasn’t there anymore. I was alone in the middle of the cold night. Crying and hopelessly begging for Hade to come back but even though my voice went out he didn’t come and he just vanished like a lightning from above. My voice isn’t the demon’s call anymore.

he ranted. "Come now and take it" Sophie repeated Suddenly, a strong wind started blowing around. It pulled the stone from Sophie's hand but she held it firmly. Just then, the woman demon appeared in front of her. She reached for the Stone. Sophie lifted the stone up with strength and brought it down on the demon's forehead. The demon woman fell immediately and the wind ceased. Sophie was breathing heavily. She looked at the ground but she couldn't find her. She turned back at the others.
