I stole glances at him until his eyes caught mine. I raised the book up and covered my face with it because my cheeks were red and I can't concentrate. "Is that how you read?" Peter broke the silence. "Huhh..." I said without taking away the book. "I mean how do you usually read for a long period of time because I am not getting anything here. I...am.. literally forcing the myself to read the book" He said. "Just read" I muttered. "It's getting late you know, I might doze off"

Of course. "I, uh..." I clear my throat. "I should tell you, I'm not very good at this." Sofia giggles. "It's easy! You just read the words and do the voices." "The voices?" "Yeah! Like this—" She takes the book back and opens to a random page, reading in an exaggerated growl, "'I am the big scary wolf!'" Then she switches to a tiny, squeaky voice, "'Oh no, please don't eat me, Mr. Wolf!'"

“Would you like to choose one of these pages to read?” Lilliana looked up, a small hint of interest brightening her eyes as she reached for the book. She opened to the first page, glanced at Emily, and started reading softly, her voice steady but quiet. Emily listened carefully, offering small encouraging nods here and there. When Lilliana stumbled on a word, Emily leaned in and quietly helped her sound it out. Bit by bit, Lilliana began to relax, her shoulders loosening as she grew more confident. “That was wonderful, Lilliana,” Emily said after they finished the first few pages. “You’re such a good reader.”

At least, not me. The smell of old books hit my nostrils as I trailed my hands on the spines of the books, reading out loud their titles. "What are we exactly looking for?" I asked. "Anything that you think would answer our questions. But remember, don't judge a book by its cover or title. At least try reading the content index or the summary at the back of the book cover." "Thanks." I said with sarcasm lacing my voice tone. It felt like ages, going through myriad books and reading their titles etc. in the dark. I heard Damien plopping on the floor with a loud sigh. I was about to give up as well but then something caught my eye.

His muscles pull tightly against the button up shirt he's wearing and I catch myself staring at him. I look away back to the book Infront of me sliding my glasses back into place. I run my eyes over the page I have flipped open and begin turning them. I've studied this way my entire life. I don't actually have to read the material to know it I just have to look at it. It's filed away in my brain for a rainy day. "There's no way you're actually reading that fast." He says looking over at the book as I continue to flip page after page only pausing long enough to rack my eyes over the content.

Am I the only one that thinks reading a novel is like watching a movie but in your head? I love how writers describe things and make them so realistic. I sat on the couch with my my back resting again on the backrest of it, my knees made a right angle, feet flat on the floor, and legs uncrossed. I held the book with my right hand and the left is a black coffee I asked Margarita; the maid to make for me earlier, coffee goes with everything, books especially. The book wasn’t too close to my face neither it was too far, just leveled to avoid any headache. I always have headache when I zoom my eyes in full concentration. As I flipped to the next page, I took a sip of coffee and continued reading

I go up on the shelf and begin to find the book, the Latin first. I read the title on each book on the shelf until I found one that mostly seemed to teach about Latin. I grab it and jump down immediately, and I run to crash onto a chair that is in front of a table and begin to flip the pages of the book. The first page is about history, and why read something without knowing about history? I sit down patiently as I study the history as I prop my hand on the table to find out what I had never heard about. I finish with the history and decide to close the Latin book for today while I begin to practice some spells. I climb up the ladder to pick up the spell book.

You cannot understand the full shape of what something has been doing by reading someone else's summary of it. You have to read the thing itself." "And what have you found," I said. She reached into the stack and she pulled out the small book that had been at the center of the table. It was slim. Illustrated. The kind of book made for very young children, for the earliest years of school.

I recognized some of the books from the cover and that was what pulled me in and I decided to check it out. There were more books than I’d ever seen in my entire life, and they all had stories about us that I’d never heard before. I was held up in there for a few hours before he came in and caught me going through his books. Initially, I had wanted to go through his notes about the things he had read already. Reading these books will be such a hard chore, I can’t finish reading everything even if I wanted to. I decided to just read his notes and see what he knew, but he caught me going through his notes and he flipped on me immediately.
