He sets the glass down. “Come here.” I step forward. The doors close behind me. He pulls me to himself in one swift motion, his hand sliding under the flared hem of my red dress. Fingers brush the bare skin of my inner thigh, then higher confirming what I already knew. No underwear. “Good girl,” he murmurs against my ear, voice dark and satisfied.

I’d dealt with pests like him before. I set the glass down slowly, my eyes locking on his. “You think you can demand more from me?” I said, my voice steady. “I’m done with you, Sebastian. Your services are no longer required.” His face twisted in confusion, then anger. “What? You can’t just—” Before he could finish, I moved in a blur, my hand plunging into his chest. His ribs cracked like dry twigs under my fingers. Sebastian gasped, eyes wide in shock, as I gripped his still-beating heart. With a quick yank, I ripped it out, blood spraying warm across my hand. He crumpled to the floor, lifeless, his body hitting the carpet with a thud.

The next thing I feel is his teeth piercing in to my neck and I hear Estella's screams. "Minerva!" Sebastian's actions give me closure in what to do next. Sebastian looked at the glass panel in the door behind Eli. The dark corridor beyond it. The very real possibility of a security guard walking past at ten fifteen. "Understood." He breathed.
