It had carvings of wolves, moons, and flames.
Stooper moved toward a cabinet in the corner and began pulling things out small bowls, herbs, a silver dagger, and a black stone.
He set everything on the table and lit two tall candles on either side. The room filled with a warm glow, and the flame reflections danced on the walls.
“Sit,” Stooper said, motioning to a wooden chair across the table.
Steve sat, watching closely.
Stooper crushed a handful of dried leaves into one of the bowls, then added drops of thick red liquid from a small bottle.
