Howling Wolf Moon Tattoo Novels & Stories

Grabbing the hem of my hoodie, I threw it over her head and let my eyes feast on her beautiful body, her slightly tanned skin glistening in the moonlight and decorated with black ink similar to mine. Eight tattoos, she had told me. The first one I had already seen before was on her right upper arm, a wolf standing over a half moon, howling. I knew there was an infinity made of flowers on the inside of her right wrist. I found the next on her sternum, another half moon but with a sword piercing through it. But what took my breath away was the intricate flowers and branches beneath her left breast that stretched up all the way to her back. There were two birds sitting amidst those bloomed flow

I resisted the urge to fan myself as my body temperature shot up. Other than bulky muscles, black ink marked his back with various tattoos. My brain had melted the moment I saw his hot, muscular body, so before I could think about it, I took a step in his direction and then a few more until I had a clear view of his tattoos. At a little distance down the neck, there was a tattoo that portrayed eight phases of the moon in a horizontal alignment. On the right side of his back, the anatomy of a wolf heart was tattooed with blood dripping down in drops. A date, 12-08-1994, was etched beneath the wolf's heart.

It's a drawing of the moon cycle with the center silhouette of a howling wolf. "How is a drawing going to help?" I'm perplexed. "This a drawing of a tattoo. Faris, one of the non-affiliated wolfs drew it. He said he saw it on a lot of the wolves who held them captive. We believe this is how they identify each other. It's always in blue ink on their forearm." Amelie hands me the drawing. "This will help narrow down who joined and who has been forced to help them. This is great!" I can't believe they are dumb enough to mark themselves. They are making it easy.

I'm a strong woman even if people barely acknowledge her though I barely care. "I'm good..." I cleaned the tears in my eyes "... I'm good you need not worry to be honest, the punching bag did give me so much relief and thank you for checking on me." I let go of her hand and she left but truly I wasn't fine but I will not believe that. I heard a horn that sounded too familiar for me not to acknowledge and my heart beat increased. He was here! As much of a tradition that it has become it was more of a nightmare for this pack. He comes every blood moon night and today was a blood moon. People ran for their lives but at the same time a sacrifice will always be made.

Axel asks softly. “I think so,” I reply, hesitant to say it out loud. “The Moon Goddess,” Kane whispers, and a shiver runs up my spine. “Holy shit,” I mutter, and suddenly my knees are weak, and I let go of their hands and sit in the dirt. I stare at my hands until my eyes adjust, and I gasp when I look at my left wrist. “What’s wrong?” Kane asks, kneeling beside me. “Look at your wrists,” I mutter, holding mine in the moonlight. Three overlapping circles around a wolf symbol glow brightly. “Are yours the same?”

Like a brand of his canines on my skin. Kane’s mark was also healed and like a tattoo. The difference was that it looked like the moon with his canines around it. It reminded me ok Skoll and Hati, the wolves that would devour the moon and sun in Ragnarok. Hati would devour the moon and that’s exactly what it looked like with Kane’s mate mark. I absolutely loved it and it was perfect.

"I'd appreciate the company, actually." As she arranged the cups, I noticed a small tattoo on her wrist—a crescent moon with a star beside it. "You're from Crescent Valley Pack originally?" I asked, recognizing the symbol. Surprise flickered across her face. "Yes. How did you know?" I gestured to her wrist. "The tattoo. Each pack has their own symbols. Crescent Valley uses the moon and star." She nodded, looking impressed. "That's right. Most wolves from other territories don't recognize the subtleties."

As my eyes follow his neck I find our mark sitting there like the most beautiful tattoo with its simplicity. The triple moon sits on our neck, the outlines clean and crisp. Inside the full moon sits two paw darkened paw prints. Three stars connected by thin lines rest above the full moon and waning crescent. Tracing the image I enjoy watching Damon shiver while I whisper, "it's beautiful."

That one got a little smile from her. "I need to explain what I am to you and what we are to each other. Each wolf is given a mate usually between the ages of 16-18 we've found them. I didn't find mine until now. I'm twenty eight. But, being a wolf my aging slows down, I can live for hundreds of years and not look as old as I am. Being my mate if you choose to stay with me your aging will slow down too. We are fated by the moon goddess only she knows the reason behind why she chose me for you. "

I asked her after our laughter died down and she sighed too. "I feel it too, Lola. It might just be us getting used to being reborn. I'm sure it's nothing", she assured and I nodded in agreement before I continued my routine. I stood in front of the mirror after bathing and the wolf howling to the moon tattooed on my chest stood out. It had become the colour of Jasmine's fur. When I looked closely, it looked exactly like Jasmine howling to a Crescent moon. It seemed to glow and I looked at it in amazement for a while before I left the bathroom.
