Hunter Becomes The Hunted Novels & Stories

"Teach me to fight." "No," he responds curtly, resuming his relentless assault on the hapless dummy. Each blow reverberates with strength, sending gusts of wind that tousle Hailey's hair. She is in awe of the power in his arms and legs; if she had even half of that, the Hunt wouldn't intimidate her. The Wild Hunt isn't inherently dangerous or unpredictable. A rogue prey is released into the forest, and the first person to shoot an arrow through him emerges victorious. Typically, this occurs within the first hour. What truly makes the Hunt unpredictable are the surprises that have accompanied each one thus far. Perhaps a pack of coyotes will be unleashed, or deadly traps will be laid out acro

My retaliation was a public humiliation in front of the entire university that Gary could not simply ignore. The game of humiliation he had carefully planned had turned into a public judgment of him and his lackeys. It broke the last of his restraint and made him go mad. He dropped the civility and stopped testing the waters. That night, the app posted an unprecedented "Ultimate Hunting" Quest. The title was crimson red. [Ultimate Hunting Quest. Capture Sinead alive and take her to the abandoned classroom building in the north.]

My body buzzed with tension, every instinct screaming that something wasn’t right. And then, the gunshot. It was too close. I twisted, moving out of the way just in time as the bullet sliced through the air where I’d been standing. A growl ripped from my throat, my body surging forward as I shifted midair. The transformation sharpened everything—the scents, the sounds, the movement in the shadows. My eyes locked onto one of the hunters pressed against a tree, his rifle raised. I didn’t give him the chance to fire again.

Especially if the omega wore that yellow band. Within five minutes, the forest was filled with muted screams as the first of the prey were being caught. Over 3,000 omegas had started in this year's hunt. Based on the new rules, every omega in the Hunt had a corresponding hunter searching for her, waiting to drag her off to a new life in a new tribe. To catch and claim your mate, you had to mark her. That meant biting her neck in possession. The combination of a bite, along with the adrenaline and endorphins of the chase meant most prey passed out from the overload to their system. The hunter had to then carry their prey back to the castle before it was official. Almost all of the hunters dra

As if knowing my attention was on him, he said silently, "This is the last time you lie to me." Swallowing, I shifted my gaze to the window. Moments dragged by before I rested my forehead on the pane, looking at the thick forests we drove past. Why did he even care anyway? I would have gotten even worse wounds from the torture he would've had his men inflict on me. Through the review mirror, I caught sight of the long line of cars behind us. The Hunt usually spanned a period of just two days. Two days of violently hunting down wild games. The Hunt was a largely anticipated event and I failed to see how something so dangerous could be looked forward to. And not to mention, they'd be killing i

Hunter paced around. “Did you think he could marry you?” She cried. “That man is a womanizer, everyone knows. But what did you do? You fell into his trap and exposed me. Do you know how long I have worked to bring those people down?” Hilary kept crying. “Women! Show them money and they will betray you in a blink of an eye!” Hunter growled. “I call this place a Carnage.” He looked around. “I’m sure you have noticed the blood around.”

The clapping is more muted now, and some of the vampire guests start murmuring and talking to each other with confused expressions. "The Hunt, as you all know, is a tradition that goes back ages. We don't harm our fellow humans now." Alexandros chuckles and rolls his eyes. "And it's usually the bachelor who has to find his food before his mates do. Tonight, though, everyone will participate. All attendants are bait, and it's finders keepers!" "What the hell is he talking about?" I ask Jay, who glares at Alexandros with a stony look on his face.

“I doubt I would ever get used to that gruesome scene.” I pinched the bridge of my nose as I closed the laptop to focus on him. This was the 10th case of horrid murder since this week. It started 7 days ago when we lost one of the best hunters in the pack. They are not what their names implied, though. Before we adopted technology and all that, the ones born into the hunters' family were great rangers. They know the forest like the back of their hands, and the right candidates to take with you for a hunt.

His hunting skills came in handy, too, and he did not require a gun to catch the wild boar and deer that roamed the area. Life was not ideal for Danny Yokes, but he was content to live the rest of his years in hiding in Lavon, carrying on his charade as a custodian. Everything was going well until one night in mid-October when he was vacuuming one of the fifth grade classrooms and didn’t realize his cell phone, the key to his freedom, had fallen out of his pocket and slid underneath the teacher’s desk. He wouldn’t realize it was missing until the next day, and by then, it would be too late. By then, a massive man hunt would be underway, and Danny Yokes, former Vampire Hunter turned renegade,

She nodded and took off after them. After they were out of view, I sheathed my sword and headed to the side of the clearing and leaned against a tree; I dozed on and off as the pain came and left my body. They were really laying into the vampire today; I thought. Why doesn’t he just give them what they want? I looked around in the darkness, feeling like I was being watched; the pain had finally stopped, I assumed, because they were done for the day. Feeling as if someone was watching me, I looked to the side of the clearing. I was right. I saw glowing eyes watching from the bushes surrounding the clearing. Quietly, I grabbed my weapon and feigned sleep while I waited for it to make a move.
