The Hunting Party Summary Novels & Stories

I enjoy her company and I found she has a great sense of humor. Today was Sunday and as every Sunday we arranged with Steve and other members of the pack, such as Cassandra and Alina, to go hunting. I love the hunt as I let Ares run free and relax a bit. We were in the middle of the forest divided into two groups. Me and Cassandra and Steve with Alina. We lurked behind some bushes, waiting for our potential prey to arrive which soon appeared. It was a great deer. Strong, tall with big horns on his head. It was grazing in the clearing a little below where we were hiding. Even though we were in our wolf forms, we were still in control of our bodies and minds. Cassandra and I immediately arrang

A shudder ran through me as I thought back to the day. *** Finally, it was the day of the hunting party, and everyone gathered around in the woods by the dusk. As wolves rarely bear the heat of the sun, these parties are arranged at an odd time. Also, we had to hunt within pack boundaries for the starting round. Rose was standing with few other omegas, her lips in between her teeth as she kept staring sideways. My heart throbbed, thumping against my ribcage so hard I could feel it reverberate through my chest. I breathed in through my nose, smelling damp grass and soil and wet.

He heard footsteps from the passage outside—quicker than before, landing on the concrete in a dry, rapid sequence. The door pushed open. Adrian squeezed sideways through the gap. He stood in the frame, looked at Lane's position, then turned and closed the door. Dust clung to his coat, a thin scrape along the shoulder fabric—like he'd passed close to something at speed. He walked to the table and relit the lamp. When the flame jumped, his face was lit for a moment—his expression was much the same as usual, but his fingers had struck the match twice before it caught. "The hunting party has entered the pipe system." He set the lamp in the center of the table. "I saw them. Three teams, each with

“But how do you know they’re here for us? What if they’re just passing through?” “It was a hunting party, Jax.” One or two Hunters in town could be passed off as a Hunter following a lead or passing through. A hunting party consisted of hundreds of them. They rolled into cities in the buses and vans and trucks to set up, usually under the guise of a ‘convention’ of some sort so the humans wouldn’t get suspicious. Then they started actively hunting. They didn’t stop until they felt they had obliterated every wolf. He looked back at Layla and knew she’d heard that conversation.

I watched for a moment before walking toward my door. As I was shutting it, I heard Elena whisper, “Go get your man, Auntie.” I shook my head. That girl was a disaster walking, and I absolutely adored the organized chaos that was Elena. I quietly crept down the stairs before slipping out the back door and into the forest. I stopped beneath his tree, looking up, scanning the tree for him but not finding him. “I know you’re here, ‘Sprey. I can feel you.” He sighed as he swung himself down out of the tree. “Hey, Scarlett. I was just leaving. I was hunting a squirrel. They’re fast and good to hunt to keep myself fresh and-”

“I can’t wait.” A horn sounded, the sound so loud it echoed off the mountains. The hunt had begun. Damon and I moved quickly into the forest together, fallen leaves and pine needles crunching beneath our feet. The morning sun barely penetrated the thick canopy, casting everything in a greenish twilight. Other hunters crashed through the underbrush around us, their eagerness making them careless. I heard a howl as one person lost control and shifted, and then a shout: “Disqualified! Return to the main grounds!”

I put a hand to my chest, feigning flustered embarrassment at Camille’s attention—but I keep my eyes on Keith, and I let just enough conflict show to stir the pot. Camille sees it. He *wants* to see it. A horn blows. The Hunt begins. They shift fast—fur, muscle, bone snapping into place—and launch into the forest with thunderous speed. The energy in the clearing pulses and then stills. Only the wind remains. Tessa exhales. “Okay. So. Ben, Keith, Camille. Who’s coming back with what?” “Ben’s going to try to drag an elk out of pure spite,” I say.

The imbalance that would be caused and the consequences of what was going to happen would be massive. "Make sure no one enters till I am done with my hunt." Alpha Ryker continued to list his instructions as they now made their way inside the forest where several humans were scattered awaiting to catch the werewolves change to their wolf forms unbeknownst to them that they were the ones going to experience the long-awaited change. At the same time inside the forest walked Thyra in search of her family. Her brows were knitted in a frown at what had occurred earlier. Her mind was still occupied with the thoughts of what she had done that could have warranted that ferocious glare from the Alpha

"I will have this settled today! I'll see them undone!" And yet, she remained rooted to the spot. Colin looked utterly crestfallen. "Where do we even start?" No one was in sight, and the hunting grounds were vast. How could they possibly catch up? At the end of the fifteen-minute mark, Colin's team members came trudging back. They were out of breath and exhausted, while Selena's party returned with cheerful smiles. Sebastian's heart raced with a mix of excitement and worry, terrified of losing. Sally and Yuvan had entered as a reserve team with two guards. They had intended to occasionally carry back a hunted beast, but today, their masters were bent on revenge, so they'd been meandering abo

The taste of the doe’s blood must have clouded my logic, returned me to a more base level of instinct. But then, just as Noah began to lean in, the sound of approaching footsteps made that logic return—for both of us. Realizing that we were about to make another mistake, and right in front of our pack this time, I sprang away from him. I scrambled to my feet, leaves clinging to my clothes, as the rest of the hunting party burst into the clearing.
