It’s been a very busy and exciting day for everyone now they are worn out. We do our normal routine of bedtime baths and lotion and end it with a lullaby that Shelly sings. Her voice is truly amazing. She could be a singer but she doesn’t feel comfortable enough doing so, which I understand. Her voice is calm and serene, each note carefully woven with love and tenderness. Sheila whistled an old nursery tune she had been used to hearing from her human long before the war had happened as she bounced up and down on the seat perched in front of the wagon as it rolled quite noisly along the unevened road, she held on to the reins and did not bother to urge the horse to move faster because the road was a perilous mix of rocks, bumps, holes and sharp objects, she could not risk loosing a wheel or waking up the humans, but then she was sure that the bumpy ride must have woken them up already.

Can you feel it?” Across the valley, the air began to shimmer with a low-frequency haze. The birds stopped singing. The distant sound of traffic grew muted. The Veil was starting the broadcast. The world was being told to sleep. “Then it’s a race,” Xander said, standing up and shaking off the exhaustion. “Pack, move out. We have a world to wake up.”
