Her upper and lower teeth were chattering uncontrollably. This person… thing before her… was a monster! How could a human possibly fight a monster? And why did such a monster even exist? The apocalypse was already bad enough—why did monsters have to appear too? "What exactly are you?" Christina roared, summoning the last of her courage. Number 114 thought for a moment. "I am… a monster your dad created." "Ah—!" Christina screamed as the woman plunged a fruit knife into her body, pushing it in inch by inch. The pain made tears stream down her face.

He was startled by me and quickly got out of the water. "Are you out of your fucking mind? Watch it if you like! Yes, I'm ugly, yes, I'm covered in scars. Yes, I'm a monster. Monsters are just ugly. Look! Look! I know I'm ridiculous! But if you fucking laugh at me, you're dead! I'll bite your head off! You try it, I'm a monster! I'm a fucking monster!" He said many, many things in one breath. I was even worried that he couldn't breathe.

But are monsters born naturally evil, or do they turn into one for some reason? It's been long overdue for me to answer that. A being like me, called a monster? I laugh at myself. I'm way more than that. It's funny how people are two-faced and yet judge another. Surely minding your own business doesn't hurt, but I guess, like me, they're greedy. Now, now. What are you greedy for, self? "Peace," I whisper under my breath.

"Shayana. They exist. And you're one of them." I can't believe it. I don't want to believe it. "Do you mean I'm a monster?" Dad stood up and held me. "No honey. You're not. Don't ever think that way. Monster is only for those who are evil. You're not like that. "I don't believe you dad. If you are just pranking me you better stop now. It's not funny. YOU'RE MAKING ME SCARED." I scream out of frustration. "HONEY. LISTEN."

"I gave you the chance to prove yourself to me, despite what you did to me in the past. But now you've only confirmed you're a monster. It is over between us!" Her words slammed into me, shaking me to my core. My eyes lit up in shock, I couldn't get myself to say another word. The weight of what I heard left me speechless. Then she walked away, and slammed the door behind her, leaving me rooted to my spot in total bewilderment. What do I do? I dropped to my knees as tears rolled down my cheeks, all I heard were her last words that kept replaying in my head. 'A Monster' 'It's over! It's OVER!'

Yvette said with teary eyes, "Do you blame me for coming back and taking over your place, Wendy? But I can't help it—I really wanted a family!" I collapsed onto the floor. The pain from my old injuries flared up from Connor's kick, making me black out for a moment. Unable to hold it in any longer, I spat out a mouthful of black blood. Mom gasped and tried to help me up. Connor's expression faltered, yet he still scolded me harshly, "You suck at pretending! You're even spitting out black blood? Do you think you're acting?" I couldn't say a word, and I didn't want Mom to touch me. As such, I could only back away desperately.

Curiosity no doubt getting the best of her. Leaning closer, I whispered. “I’m a monster too, and most people think I’m ugly and worthless as well. To me, however, you are very precious and I want nothing more than to hug your cuteness. And it’s alright to be a monster sometimes when we are dealing with real monsters. We just need to make sure we never lose ourselves, and we need to make sure we never act like monsters to those who are innocent. The last thing we want is hurt people who don’t deserve it.”

Stefan moves closer to me. "You and I know that, if someone should tell you, that I am only a human with a wolf, you will never believe it, talk more of the fact that, I possess a strange character, that no human will possess." "Are you a monster?" I don't know the reason I call him a monster but the truth is, I wish he was not a monster, I can't imagine myself living with a monster or something worse than a monster.
