I was reborn and sent back to three weeks before the zombie virus outbreak. In my previous life, a zombie virus suddenly broke out in my city on Christmas Eve. The entire city collapsed within two days. I was an orphan. My parents had died in a car accident, and I used their compensation money to open a supermarket. Before the zombie virus spread completely, I built a makeshift shelter inside my supermarket. I took in Victoria Blake, a young woman I admired, out of kindness, but she ended up betraying me.

“When you were in the coma, your brain was resting. Healing, as much as it could. But now that you’re awake—fully active—the trauma is flaring up. Like a sleeping volcano. We can’t predict how bad it is until all the test results come in.” I nod. I nod like I understand. Like I’m not splintering into a thousand pieces inside. I stand up. My limbs feel foreign, heavy, rubbery. The room feels too small and too bright. I walk out in a daze. Anna’s already gone. I asked her too, and thank goodness. I don’t think I can take it if anyone sees me like this. Broken. I am a zombie of myself. I don’t even feel the air biting.

To Lucas, a Level 8 Zombie was just too weak. Lucas spun around to look at Lora who was staring at him with a terrified face. "Are you scared?" Lucas was curious as he looked at Lora. "Se… senior, you were just bitten by a zombie," said Lora, fearfully. Lucas thought about what kind of other stuff she was about to tell him. Lucas was immune to the zombie virus. Hence, the zombie virus would not do him any harm. "No worries, the zombie virus does me no harm," said Lucas.

"Hear you screaming like a little bitch!" Brian cringed with a look of hurt on his face. He gasped and then rolled off the bed. Maybe I went a little too far with that one. "You know how I feel about that." He said. His voice was unsteady. Real mature, I thought. He was going to pull the victim card on me. Really! "And how do you think I feel dating a zombie?" Brian gasped. "What does that even mean?" "It means," I said. "You are the most inactive fuck on earth."

“Th-there must be another way. We can save him right?” My friends looked confused. “Zelda, he's an Aleni.” Zeke pointed out. “But he was always so nice to me.” I breathed. “I think he's misunderstood.” “Babe, as much as that can be true...he can't stay with us if he's a Zombie.” Penn squeezed my thigh. “It's not safe.” “There must be something we can do!” Cedric exclaimed. “Right, Mom? We can do something?” “Cedric, I'm sorry, but we can't.” Nova sighed. “He's already been bitten. By sundown, he'll be a completely different person...he'll be a Zombie.”

It was surrounded by those 'walkers', stumbling around like they were in a trance. "What are they?" He breathed out, staring in disbelief. He chugged some water, letting out a sigh of hydrated relief. "They call them walkers." She pointed the screen down slightly to allow him to see easier and switched to the website she was reading. "There's information on them, finally." As Adam read, she watched his expression change from confused to terrified. "This is like an actual zombie movie." He spluttered, barely able to get his words out. Behind them, a stirring caught their attention.

Either way, I fell hard for him, even if he scared me. When I was sixteen, everything changed. The entire world changed because we realized we weren’t alone. I’m not talking about aliens. Nope, crazy as it sounds, I’m talking about Zombies. Not the slow, dumb kind. It turns out zombies are fast, strong, intelligent, and vicious. Not only do they eat brains, but they will eat human flesh if brains are available. We didn’t get zombies from a virus, a vaccine, or any of the normal things in the books, movies, or TV shows. It turns out zombies come from a mutated human gene that activates after death. This mutated gene is inherited by one's father if he carries the mutation.

"Have you come to play with me?" What the hell—a zombie that can talk?

"Dr. Cloude, two more wanderers have been discovered in Zone B7." I raised an eyebrow. "The same pair as before?" "Yes," he replied in a hushed tone. "The man is partially blind. The woman is completely zombified but still conscious. She's restrained." For the past year, Hans and Winnie had wandered like ghosts around the perimeter of various safe zones. The side effects of the first-generation vaccine had turned Winnie into a conscious zombie, while Hans stubbornly took her everywhere seeking medical help. "Should we expel them?"
