I have a stable career and I am able to live my life comfortably. I smiled at the announcement of my latest book as the press surrounded me. I hardly answer any questions from the press. I am a private person but I had a fallout with my last publisher and people wants to know how they’ll get the last book on my series. I had to hold a press conference as per my best friend who also happens to be my agent.

I ignored it hoping it would simmer and die from the lack of attention. The edges of the book in my hands were turning white, frost creeping over the pages like delicate lacework. I was blatantly failing. With a sharp exhale, I announced.“It’s freezing again.” From the couch across the room, Khalid let out an amused chuckle. “But hey, you held it longer this time.” “Two hours,” I quirked a brow in question as I glanced up to meet his face. He was grinning, all pearly whites in sight, looking far too relaxed for someone watching me unwillingly turn a self-help book into a Popsicle. Flavor? Bland useless knowledge with a sprinkle of aged dust.

“Excuse me, sir? Will you be checking any of these books out?” He tilted his head at her in confusion. He had reserved no books. The robrarian expected his question and spoke once more. “Your friend with the tail thought you would need these.” She showed him the different titles.
