A Book I Read Novels & Stories

I paused to take a deep breath before entering the room, I truly hoped no one would be there because I didn't want to have to answer any questions. I pushed the doors open and entered. It was quiet and a bit dark, save for the small shadow of sunlight that peeped though the small window. It was extremely cold in here and I loved it. I sniffed the last bits of my tears away and proceeded to look for a book to read from the shelves. I hadn't gotten far when I saw the pride and prejudice book. I smiled, picking it up from where it rested on the shelf. I had read this book more than 5 times but I would never get tired of reading it all over again. I opened the first page with a grin.

Next week I will have another scan to check the baby’s growth. I wished with all my heart that everything would be fine. After a few minutes, I was leisurely walking down the streets, enjoying the warm sunlight and soft breeze. It felt refreshing. After walking for a while, I had no idea why I ended up slowing down in front of a bookstore. My gaze lingered on the display window for a moment, stopping at one specific book. “Little Bear Loves His Mama the Most.” The title of the book, with its light blue hardcover and beautiful illustrations, made me stare at it for a long time.

I've never read any of them. It was only after he spoke that I realize he was behind me. I thought he was still sitting on the bed. I run my hands over the book, my eyes catching the titles, A fresh Start, For Mbatha and Rebecca, Agony in get voice, Felicia, The betrayal, for better for worse, Evbu my love... I pulled Evbu, my love out. It's actually my best pacesetter novel. I flipped through the pages and sniffed it.

Ella POV. I fell asleep between them drinking my warm milk, I was never this warm or full in so long. I woke up still in their arms, I loved that daddy read me to sleep, I love stories, books, and he's the best story reader ever, he did the voices and everything.

I need to take time. I remember the small room I entered last time. I slowly opened the door and turned on the lampshade. The books on the table were still scattered. I tried to look and read each one of them. These are all interesting books. Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and a lot more. I tried to find something that might help me, but I found nothing.

This book was more than just a mere collection of words on paper - it was a treasure trove of knowledge, a gateway to a world beyond our own. As I read on, the moon cast its pale light across the room, bathing everything in an eerie glow. I lost track of time, lost in the secrets that lay before me. Every line I read seemed to unlock a new mystery, a new revelation. The more I read, the more my curiosity grew, until I was completely consumed by the book's power.

It seemed like the perfect time to immerse myself in my reading. I wasn't a romantic woman so the novels that revolved around a love story seemed very boring to me. The book I was reading was suspenseful and I was very intrigued, I was so immersed in the story that I was really scared when my alarm went off. I grabbed my phone and read the reminder. It was time to study. I turned the page I was reading and put the book on my desk.

I sighed a little to myself as the bathroom door closed behind him, taking a seat at one of the sofas much like he had before me. I picked up the book he had been reading, a well worn hardcover. It was War and Peace. I'd spent night reading it over and over. By now, I had nearly memorised it, along with a few other classics my nanny had slipped to me surreptitiously. I flipped to the first page of the book, gasping. It was a first edition! These were hard to come by, specially for someone like me. Eagerly, I flipped to the page he had bookmarked.

"Yes, it was Jacob's favorite book, and I think you will find it captivating too," he explained, his voice filled with warmth and nostalgia. "I'm sure I will," I replied, a soft smile playing on my lips, feeling a connection to Jacob through this shared love for literature. I ran my fingers along the cover, appreciating the weight of the book and the memories it held.
