I obey after hesitating for a bit. “Are you certain ‘truth’ is what you really want? If you see what comes next you may want to change your mind and it’ll be too late. This truth machine will determine the truth of your answer.” Truth machines react to racing hearts. And right now my heart is racing badly. If only Zeath had ‘run’ as an option too, I’d have gone with ‘run’ instead. But I can’t run and leave him. I have to pick truth. But with the involvement of the truth machine, I feel like everything is taking a bad turn.
